The Big ol' Xbox 3rd Party Releases Discussion Thread (HiFi, SoT, Pentiment, Grounded) (Part 1)

Who knows, but I really think you’re right. Phil Spencer and Sarah Bond were aware and knew they might have to wait several years before seeing their vision for Xbox truly take shape across Xbox, PC, cloud and mobile. It was declared by themselves in some interviews. Giving up everything so suddenly is really too strange.

Satya’s fault using ammo from the beancounters.

If I thought this was Phil’s plan, I might have more faith, but this reeks of a call from someone(s) above him. I’ll hold onto my Series X, but not a chance I’ll touch any other hardware they release.

Xbox and Microsoft miscalculated here. I think we see their revenue and profit decline for the forseeable future.

E3 died so the business update could live

Let’s face it. You don’t give a business update when you’re not changing your plans.

It’s happening so the question is how do they explain that people still trust them and not running away.

I wonder what made Satya change his mind.

Was the lack of cloud growth just an absolute non starter for him ?

Oh absolutely stuff is going to change. Just how drastic though I wonder? I really hope they are gonna be dead honest about it all, no bullshit about case by case basis please.

They can’t just say HFR and some other games like SoT are going multiplatform and some other stuff and leave it there. After all these rumors, just give it to us straight. Tell us what we can expect.

Please.

This week would have been better, but I guess at least it’s not fucking end of this month.

He’s been the head of Xbox for what, 10 years already?

The console sells less and less each year, this 2024 is going to be absolutely terrible unless something unexpected happens. Of course it’s on him.

Note i’m talking specifically about the Xbox console brand, he’s done great things for PC, and GP was great too, but he never knew how to make Xbox an appealing product.

And not to talk about cases like Forza Motorsport, Halo Infinite, Wasteland 3 etc, unexplainable.

In complete neutrality to everything, you benefit from the traffic lol

Anyways, it will be very interesting to see what Phil & Co has to say. He didn’t completely squash any rumors with that tweet and but the “We’re listening and we hear you” maybe interpreted as reassurance too. Can’t blame anyone tbh because MS is great at that.

Now it’s “some games” again, come on Tom.

As is the way with Phil Spencer quotes, everyone reads something different from it and then gets mad if their personal interpretation turns out untrue.

The “bussiness” part of the event makes me think that this is aimed at potential shareholders, not fans. I mean, has a public transmission of a business meeting of a megacorp aimed to the general public ever happened?

Tom always said some games and not all.

There has never been a person who uses the phrase “we are listening and hear you” or “we hear you and see you” that actually went on to do those things. Literally the cheapest corpo/politician speak of all.

Yeah, Xbox 360 games won’t be ported because PS doesn’t have backwards compatibility. Everything else, matter of time.
