They’ve ruined consumer trust unless they walk this back or explain it with news of a product launch that makes this make sense post haste. Even then the consumer trust may not be repaired. Their brand is damaged because of some execs dumb decision.
I agree but that’s what happens when your bosses want results asap and it can’t be delivered due to the nature of the industry.
I was thinking about that but the Series version will give me the best visuals so I’m still just gonna get it here. Vanillaware continues to be unique in ignoring PC so that’s the only reason why lol.
If I ever feel like playing it again on Switch 2 or something it’ll be $15-20 at that point so eh.
Onwards will be Steam/Switch for me.
I changed my pre-order of Gunvolt Records (what my avatar is from) to Switch though.
It might when it isnt overpriced.
Me too. Probably the best combination. I just hate the friends and party system on Nintendo. Hopefully they changed it for the Switch 2.
It’s Nintendo, so be prepared for disappointment.
Now I’m reading a rumor on other era about Game Pass getting a makeover, namely no more day one first party releases & stuff like that (i.e. with a “giving away games on the service was indeed way too expensive” conclusion).
I mean seriously, yesterday I speculated Game Pass could be the hook for Xbox hardware going forwards but it’s starting to increasingly look like MS have taken an axe to the Xbox division & gone full Jason Voorhees on the entire operation, Game Pass included.
So it doesn’t even appear like Game Pass is à la mode anymore among the higher ups. I bet those Activision profits they inherited changed their opinion on ‘how’ to make money, unfortunately. Just a hunch.
Unfortunately, I’m expecting Nintendo to never invest into communication, because of Miiverse and 3DS Swapnote controversies (they killed the 3DS messaging app quickly because predators were using it, so I think they’d rather just keep things basic and locked down instead of properly moderating)
My post above
That is why I said we should pump the brakes about claiming that Xbox’s way is the future. I remember people talking that gamepass and subscriptions will change the gaming industry, only for MS to come back to the traditional sales model lol.
No exclusives and no more Day 1’s, if that turns out being true, I think this might be the biggest and fastest implosion of a gaming division iv ever seen
Yeah honestly if they’re going multiplatform, with the result being a loss in users on Xbox consoles (which will result in a loss in Game Pass subscribers), I really don’t see how day 1 GP releases of their first party games would be financially viable anymore.
Especially if the whole reason for going multi to begin with is that the suits upstairs are unhappy with the ROI.
Maybe it’ll just become a larger version of EA Play, where Xbox games come to Game Pass after 12 months or so.
If gamepass isn’t going to other services then Xbox might as well pull the plug on it anyways and refund subscribers their remaining investment. That’s where this decision will lead anyways unless they are launching a new product such as an Xbox game store app.
The Day 1 stuff isn’t from anything credible so I’m not gonna believe that but if they DID go through with it, they would piss off everyone. Without 1st party games Day 1, I don’t see how anyone stays around lol.
The entire point of the service was to get games Day 1, they lose that what do they have, an advanced version of the Core sub?
I’ll stop subscribing and never look back
This sounds a little too much tbh. Though the ABK on GP silence is sus… Maybe they really do only launch CoD campaigns on GP and sell multiplayer+zombies for $50 extra or something.
Nah, I don’t want to believe this. It would take away the only other incentive of owning an Xbox. But if it were true, what the hell is going on?!? It’s as if the entire leadership of Xbox has been completely replaced
I think GP rumour is bullcrap, it’s the only competitive advantage Xbox has, I mean.
