The Big ol' Xbox 3rd Party Releases Discussion Thread (HiFi, SoT, Pentiment, Grounded) (Part 1)

That game has the potential to sell 30 million copies in the first month if multiplat, my guess is that they will do it.

I don’t trust MS at all after this. Literally throwing their decade old customers to the side to make more some quick bucks

Xbox will fall. Sony will prevail and becomes again bad-Sony. in fact, Sony will become a monopoly and rises prices and subs like no tomorrow.

In the end, pc gaming will flourish and save peace and the world.

Spiderman 2 sold 5 mills in like 1 week?, it’ll end up selling near 20.

Why in the world would Sony be thinking about putting games on Xbox, to kill Playstation?

They got a Steam-like machine with their console, taking 30% fees of each sale from third party studios, and it’s doing about record numbers thanks to the amount of exclusives they are locking and the awesome marketing campaigns they are doing.

Who knows how will console market work in 15-20 years, but for now, things couldn’t look better for Sony and PS

I honestly feel bad having an Xbox game collection tbh but it kind of felt like something like this would happen. Honestly considering just moving to pc at this point, maybe I’ll get a ps5 or the next gen switch but I don’t see much use in the Xbox anymore

And I’m guessing BGS will work on all versions. So the wait will probably be even longer.

So lovely.

We know how it’s going for them. Their margins are horrible, struggling to maintain their PS4 fanbase, let alone grow. That’s the heart of the issue, the old model is stagnating. Matt Piscatella has talked about it repeatedly.

I think the most annoying thing about all this is how premature it is, they finally have endless studios, Bethesda, ABK, FUCKING CoD and they don’t even give it a gen to see how it plays out

Maybe full multiplat is how the industry is going to go but you can’t go one gen first to at least try?

This good friend of mine is the most hardcore Xbox fanboy I know and he just sent me this :sob: Funny thing is he was one of those 360 players that jumped ship to PS4 but ended up getting an Xbox One X eventually and returned to the Xbox ecosystem.

All but Halo Infinite (winding down) and Redfall (obvious reasons) is my guess. For the Xbone generation stuff they will pick out the popular ones like SoT and SoD2.

Xbox will be kind enough to help them fix this problem

I was the exact same, so I know his pain.

I would argue to some degree that perhaps their desire to continue to grow (acquisitions) is the deciding factor. They saw post ABK that any purchases they would want to make moving forward is an uphill battle and resigned themselves to the fact that if they want to pursue that kind of additional expansion, this is what is necessary.

Please tell this is an actual joke?!!! I have invested money in Xbox for near a decade and this is what they have planned?!!

Massive news to gaming. Impossible to see xbox hardware surviving after this.

Do we know? all i saw is some talk about their results where they added part of the Bungie acquisition as costs too, we’ll see on their future financial reports.

But a console being sold without losses, doing record numbers, their first party games are selling well, third party games sell the most copies on PS5 ( on consoles).

There’s no way they are not doing well

Here’s a perspective from a hardcore Xbox gamer (me). I’m OK if MS decides to go multi platform and prioritize gamepass as their ‘only’ exclusive to sell the console, but as they have further cleared the roadblock of any new big acquisitions, I want to see their devotion of being the biggest 3rd party publisher.

In other words, acquire capcom, SE and Bandi namco, I’ll be fine to have a Xbox without any exclusives. Otherwise, farewell Xbox.

Microsoft was always Xbox’s hardware number one enemy, the only console manufacturer I ever saw telling people “hey you don’t need a console for this!” It felt strange for a while, like they were trying to kill it themselves.
