That Insomniac Leaks spoiler filled discussion

The League of eXtraordinary Xboxers is 100% not real.

That’s just what the Xbox Illuminati wants you to believe.

I’m not sure if this is off topic or not, but hopefully Microsoft beefs up their security on all their Xbox studios, so no leak happens to them too.

Microsoft got attacked before but it does seem like they get on top of it really quick. Stuff like this is serious.

7.6 hrs is actually enough time to finish Demon’s Souls lol. At least, when I played the PS3 version, it took me I think 8 hours.

I think it fits more of hard difficulty being a turn off case than actual completion, especially when you put into the equation of Wo Long, whom it was said that many dropped due to difficulty. Not to mention, it was a launch title, so casual probably thought this should be pick up, only to be like “This game sucks.” Wouldn’t surprise me if this is why Bluepoint is now working an original title rather than more steroid remaster.

Can anyone summarise the ps plus slides

Do they tell us that want emulate game pass as it’s proving successful

No. They don’t believe its sustainable and note putting Forbidden West on PSN+ culled retail sales.

Playstation aren’t set up for a Game Pass strategy

All their games are one and done, single player games that cost 100s of millions of dollars and are stuck trying to make an outdated one platform strategy work

I feel the Game Pass strategy Xbox is going for is the correct one, especially after seeing what the budget for these Sony games are but unless Sony changes that going forward, a Day 1 sub for these games would actually be an even worse situation for them

I feel for the staff and the part about the personal data leak. But I do not feel for Insomniac or Sony. It is the job of their CISO to protect their data from theft. As this is not the first big breach into Sony owned systems I think rather investing in AAA games with such big budgets they first should invest into the cypersecurity infrastructure and capabilities. To have that many breaches is actually embarrassing. Instead shielding Sony and Insomniac there should be an outcry about the status of security with Sony. Gaming journalists (except a few) not doing their job again when it comes to reporting about Sony or its studios.

The way I read it was they want to copy Xbox’s model & know they should put are frightened to death to do it as they can’t eat the losses

They’ve convinced their fans that every single game should be a 300 Million dollar “banger”.

Gamepass works because it can provide every sort of game, every genera, every budget.

It tells me that Microsoft can either be doing a head start (subscription) or too much of a head start (online only).

So apparently, the whole narrative was that quick resume will count the hours, which would mean Starfield wasn’t really played 40 hours average. Turns out that was a lie.

The “usuals” will try to come up with any copium they can

Of course it was a lie. Also no quick resume on PC.

Gamepass works because it has the backing of a trillion dollar company.

Sony legitimately can’t afford to do what Gamepass does.

If this happened to us our entire info security team would be on the street pretty quick and a few others most likely. You are spot on.

Wow, the difference between this and that slide up there is pretty stark. Things definitely aren’t as rosy as they seemed for Sony and I’m genuinely a bit concerned with their position.

I think I said earlier that their shift to GaaS makes sense in light of their profit margins, but now I’m hearing that they’re changing course on that. Is there much to that or is it wishful thinking extrapolated from the Factions debacle?

they aren’t really changing course, a few of the planned GAAS projects didn’t pan out. But they are still investing heavily in those games.
