Admin edit - I wrote up the quotes for those who can’t watch a video.
Very soon I’m going to get back into Starfield and it will consume moat of my gaming for at least 3 to 4 months.
Can’t wait for the details of the next DLC. I liked, not loved, Shattered Space - it was good but ultimately a little shallow compared to what I was hoping for. Love the overall game though.
It definitely was more of the same. Just from how long it has taken, I am expecting this DLC to be more than just a new area to explore etc.
They ideally they had been like Far Harbor and Nukaworld, I quite enjoyed both of those for Fallout 4. Maybe the next one.
The gaming media and fanboyism really did this game dirty.
Still remains my top 3 Xbox game this generation, alongside FH5 and Indiana Jones. There’s just something about this game.
Hopefully with the new systems and content along with DLC 2, it will start get a few plaudits again.
It’s as of today, still my game of the generation. Does the game have it’s flaws and issues? Yes but the vast majority of them can be completely ignored/avoided and thus, the game becomes so much better. Played through it twice and it was excellent. I may still play it a third time using MODS but im 50/50 because I have too many other games to play.
We’ll see what they’ve been working on come 2026.
Need this DLC to be special, it’s probably gonna be the last it gets.
Late, but I really wanna add that Skyrim absolutely eradicated Bethesda. There’s no way they can hit those expectations ever again. I mean people have kinda fabricated how good Skyrim is. And I actually think Bethesda set reasonable expectations with marketing. All the biggest problems people ended up having were right there in the trailers. Can’t wait for the TESVI fallout (pun intended).
You think so? Didn’t Todd more or less promise years of content to come? I mean they can have a small team keep working on that while the rest is on TES VI.
Retrospectively, playing Skyrim and then Starfield, you can see the obvious continuities and discontinuities, but also, I’m like ‘eh, feels pretty similar.’ It’s a Besthesda game.
Yes, Starfield has some glaring ‘old feeling’ issues due to the engine (cells, etc), but the gaming community wasn’t told or asked by anyone to go utterly headless with hype over Skyrim, and then hate over Starfield because it was… too old and yet not old enough.
That was before Microsoft’s slaughter of some projects at Xbox, the game is still likely gonna keep getting mod support for years to come but I doubt Bethesda will spend more on DLC when everyone wants a new Fallout and Elder Scrolls, I think the entire studio is going to move on to those projects next, now if the second DLC brings back a significant portion of players and the PS5 release is a big success, then maybe they do a 3rd DLC.
I expect this DLC to focus on the origins of the Starborn and whatever it was hinted at the end of the game.
If it means TES and Fallout will come sooner I am all for it , but I really hope a different studio is porting it to PS5, I really don’t want previous dev time of future projects being less because of PS and Switch versions.
I just want more/expanded major cities
Well, nothing to stop Bethesda from doing a re-release in 10 years with “new” content
