They’re in all the major cities. The thing to know is that you can change everything except background and traits. Traits can be removed but you can’t add new ones.

It seems my guy can’t have glasses? Trying to make the character look as much as myself, hehe.
You have to register stolen ships and then can only be sold for about 15% of thay rego fee ?? Its a missed opportunity, would love to have went all GTA.

Yeah that’s the next thing I want to work on is upping my skills for piloting large ships. I doubled the Frontier’s storage and gave it some other big upgrades in shielding and weapons, reactor and drive, but I want to be able to move massive amounts of stuff around.
Stop picking everything up, you don’t need too. Unless you are going for a backpacking / hoarder build, you don’t need too. If you want a particular item, you can find it later, the game makes it pretty easy. Dump all resources in your ship.
You also don’t need 12 weapons if you’re doing that, again unless you are intentionally specced into it, just have 1-3.

Man I just can’t choose what background to choose, some of these skills sound great and I wish I could make a custom selection. It’s great for a second, third (or more) playthrough.
What did you end up choosing?
you can make a custom selection, should be the last one on the list
I went soldier, backgrounds just give your first three skills (you can grab more each level up) as well as some flavor dialog at certain points.

I underestimated that sentiment before I played it, I thought yeah many big games are like that, start slow, it’s probably just that. But this really is different, I don’t blame anyone who doesn’t get into it right off, hell you could be dreading it for the first few play sessions but then one thing happens and boom you’re so into it. It’s I important to be patient, and people who think that’s an “excuse” just don’t get it imo.

Yeah, I became laser focused on getting the skills necessary to pilot a C class ship and also add the more unique parts. Now, I’m basically a flying fortress and it feels so good.
