I get motion sickness in (mostly) badly made first person games yep. Usually no issues in AAA games, like Starfield, or if there’s enough settings to adjust to combat it.
Ingame ways to fix it for me when the options exist are increasing FOV, turning off head bobbing, adjust motion blur, turn down camera shake, adjust sensitivity and sometimes chromatic aberation. Higher fps is usually better too, but that varies a bit and steady fps is more important than the number.
Outside the game its first of all about having good conditions for gaming; not being tired or hungry and stay hydrated.
Last there’s the magic trick: Ginger. In any shape and form, it works great. Raw, fresh ginger is absolutely best but it’s not super fun to eat. A small piece is enough though. But juice with ginger, tea, other drinks or foodstuff works great too.
There are others things like pills, pressure armbands etc. to try as well.
Thanks mate, some very interesting things to consider. I am starting to let it win, and for example i havent played a game properly for months now. It was only earlier this year i put hours into Tunic without skipping a beat.
Two things are prominent in possibly teeing it off, i got multi lense glasses for the first time plus got a real bad bout of nauseau from giving Supraland a go, not sure if anything about that game would set it off.
Ginger works best as a preventative, so take it before you get nauseated if possible and replenish if you play for longer sessions. These things are all individual though so there’s a bit of trial and error until you find what works best for you.
I swear it’s so weird to me how the cult and the gaming media are trying so hard to force this nonexistent conflict between BG3 and Starfield. I had to block PC gamer finally. Someone posted an excerpt from that clickbait “article” where they blatantly misrepresent how missions play out in the game, so much like Kotaku , gamespot and IGN they go on the block list.
Social media gamer : Starfield is literal trash. It’s the worst game I’ve ever seen. I’m so glad it’s not on PlayStation. PlayStation have proper quality control and don’t let trash that looks like a 360 game onto their system.
Same social media gamer : Signs petition calling for Starfield to be ported to PS5.
Colin doesn’t appear on it, but that’s fine if you don’t want to listen to the podcast. I really don’t care. I don’t get a percentage of his business revenue. I just like listening to a lot of Xbox podcasts like Defining Duke, Xboxera, Expansion Pass, Xcast, World of Gaming, Iron Lords, etc. Xboxera is my favorite by a mile, and Defining Duke is the runner up. Xbox Two is a very close #3.
