Starfield |OT| You're Finally Awake... In Space!

Zelda ToTK got about 140 reviews, Starfield is currently on 97. So still plenty to go if others wish to do it. Hopefully they take their time with it as a common point is that it starts slow and gets exponentially better. If other outlets who didn’t get review codes play for 10 hours and put it down they are just going to give it a 6.

Edit: Final Fantasy 16 also has 165 reviews

Do find it funny that the review threads elsewhere are absolutely massive. The digital foundry review threads are tiny though. I wonder why?

The fact the game is a technical marvel and runs locked 30 with amazing visuals on the series X and S doesn’t seem to interest many….

Game probably fell victim to 1. hype to the point that no game could feasibly live up to, 2. it’s probably so massive that most reviews that come out at 50 hours probably haven’t experienced 15% of the total game, but most importantly 3. it’s not on playstation. Add those up and you got a 93-94 metacritic. Don’t think people should really care though, it’s only console war ammo in the end.

1- 30fpsv

2- loading screens

Apparently the existence of those means a game can’t be otherwise technically or visually great

Thats good to hear.

I’m very happy to hear Starfield runs great on Series S. I will probably want to upgrade someday, but now I know there isn’t any need to rush.

Tbh, the stuff re the copious loading screens is a bit disappointing. It’ll be fine, but yeah that’s a bit annoying from a tech perspective.

The score is thankfully high enough where it doesn’t matter, symbolically a 90 would’ve been nice but the quality has enough of a consensus that it will be successful. The only thorn there is that two of the biggest sites gave the second lowest score out of 97 review lol (7/10).

But already there are some other reviewers scoffing at those numbers, like Paul Tassi. I suspect a high user score which will further propel the game forward.

I think we should mark down any game in the future that doesn’t have Starfields scope. It’s set a new standard. And pulled it off on series s.

Not sure if its a good thing though, 88 is a great score and im not sure i can say with confidence that it will hold after another 60 reviews lol

Im not sure if I want to play the game on Xbox or on my laptop. Downloading the game on both. My laptop is a Ryzen 7 5800H with a 3070. Will I reach 60fps on that?

Lets have faith. We rooting for you Starfield…

Sadly no to both. Main takeaways are:

  • Graphics are excellent, way better than any other previous BGS game.
  • Series S version is great.
  • Game is really stable.

A fantastic package all around!

Man, look at these stupid idiots (being kind here). Catching smoke for the Starfield review and the first thing they do is: “Look, we love Xbox!”.

Pathetic.

I’m officially done with IGN & Gamespot. They want that “rage” traffic, they can have it without me.

They have been set to 127.0.0.1 on my hosts file.
