European outlets will hurt the average for sure

I’m predicting a 97 and then Sony calls Reed Pop to bring it down like they always do. The stuff needs investigated at this point. So let’s says:
Starfield Critics score: 97
Reed Pop Conglomerate score: 40
Overall: 92
97 is really high man.
I think it’ll be more closer to Fallout 4 than Skyrim unless the game is truly transformative.
I’m guessing this is gonna be a drone show thing near the Sydney opera house and bridge , might be an ARG throughout the day finishing with a drone show marketing thingy.
I will guess 88-90 metacritic. I think some will love it, many will really like it, but more than a few are not going to like the scope and scale of it.
Yeh I’m doubtful the game hits 90 tbh. By all accounts it should score higher than Fallout 4 (88) based on what we already know, least bugs ever, best gunplay, best visuals, no voiced protag, better base building etc etc, unless they’ve really dropped the ball in another area.
We’ll see, just have a weird feeling
No idea how it’s going to score. Most of the reports I’ve seen from people playing it seems they’re really enjoying it and the feedback points to a polished product but the game may take a bit of time to get going along with a lot of systems being thrown at people which may put off more casual players
I really hate scores in general. It was painful to see Jesee having to defend his score of AC6. People should not care about scores they are not healthy.
Actually I think scores should be hidden by default in reviews as a spoiler. Maybe Xboxera should try that approach.
I like steam ratings because you get an idea of how popular a game is. Thats all it matters.
With the amount of reviewers basically saying they’re losing sleep because of the game, I think there’s a high chance of 90+ but none of this will really matter because I can play it for myself, while it’s nice seeing the game I want to play get massive praise it really doesn’t matter to me. Like I’ve played tons of 60 meta or lower games and had more fun than higher scored games.
There are way too many leaks now, which are literally creating a discourse around the game, though I don’t think that will affect review scores too much. Leakers are basically trying to exploit the sim elements of the game to feed the hungry haters, without even advancing the main story line.
A better strategy for ES6 will be to not give reviewers early codes at all, like BG3 let them play the game on day one with everyone else. The hype will carry the game and the review scores. This current climate makes it almost impossible for starfield to hit 95+.
Bethesda did this before, and it backfired as well. Fallout 4 was launched without reviewer early access and it launched broken, and then BGS caught heat - rightly so - for hiding the issues.
Obviously not in a broken state, meant more like hi-fi rush, launch in a polished/finished state.
No company would ever release a game that big without a marketing cycle.
Why? We’ve seen several games that haven’t been transformative but 90s this year. They just been polished experiences. BG3, Zelda TOTK, SF6, all did not do anything (or very little) transformative and hit well into the 90s.
It’s still very high because that will mean it’s one of the highest rated games of all time. Personally , I think it will get a 93 because I can see some scoring it low because not high on bgs games
Then we think it will score pretty similar. As they have done for every Xbox game review, I believe the Reed Pop owned media outlets will score the game well below everyone else.
They have a history of scoring Xbox games significantly lower than everyone else. They also have a history of attacking Xbox through articles any time Xbox has positive momentum. I expect they’ll be very aggressive on both fronts once again.
I wish there were a spoiler thread here so that i can post about the stuff i’ve seen.
Anyways i think it will get 90’s or at the least high 80’s review scores. There is always gone to be some arsehole that will score the game low just cause it a Xbox 1st party game now.
