Another situation if MS did this, made a slim model barely slimmer with an increased price they would be raked over the coals. But since itās Sony either people/media will ignore it or make excuses why this is a good thing.

Biggest takeaway so far is if you got a launch or launch window console at the initial asking price for either Sony or MS be happy you got a deal both in price as well as being to enjoy the consoles for a longer time.
It seems like this time mid gen adopters arenāt gonna get the hookup like in the past.

The more I read about this the more āAppleā it feels, this is Jimās legacy!
An extra $50 to buy the digital, you then have to buy the $30 stand and if you want the disc drive itās also another $80!!!
They really are taking the mick! You can almost guarantee they will prioritise digital versions over disc.
I wish Apple would just buy Sony and be done with it!

I think same price but double the storage is pretty fair, sure Iād love a $399 4TB XSX but they have to make some money haha. I would trade my disc drive for 1TB more SSD every day of the week.

Reduced the volume and itās even uglier than before. And you even have to spend money for a separate stand.
And if you ever want the digital edition with a disc drive you have to spend $80.

Wow, I do not at all feel like I missed out by getting the original model. $50 price increase for digital plus the stand now costs an extra $30? Wowza.
Series S now has a $150 price advantage against the PS5 instead of only $100. That seems big.

Storage sucks, but I still maintain if you can find the 512 Series S for like $250 or so itās the best value in gaming if you are a hold out from last gen.
This just makes that even more so.

There were some doubts about this, but now we know itās true. I bet that Pro will happen too.
They introduced a new model and somehow made the Series S better value despite it costing them less to produce
