Sony in talks to purchase Kadokawa, parent company of FromSoftware

I remember that the Crunchyroll acquisition didn’t get approuved easily with regulators, so if the rumour that Kadokawa wants Sony to buy all of its assets is true, then I don’t see that deal being easy to get approuved. I can be wrong of course. Also, I’m not 100% sure FromSoftware games would suddenly be exclusives, with Sony seeking more profits.

… Xbox owners don’t play these games anyway” as justification to why they would stop putting games on Xbox, then in the same breath act like a bunch of Xbox users are going to flee the platform and buy a PS to play the games they never played in the first place. Can’t have it both ways, either there are users to “steal” or there aren’t. Loss of games on Xbox isn’t going to transfer over 100% to PS. As it was when Xbox bought Bethesda and ABK, this is different than buying game exclusivity. When Sony buys Final Fantasy exclusivity they don’t own SE so they don’t have to care if the FF franchise and SE goes down in flames. Sony just banks the extra console sales and hype while the franchise suffers. If Sony actually owned SE the decision to hobble the franchise would be a much tougher decision.

Sony wants the big mega games just on its platform. I think the remasters and stuff that’s already out sure will stay how it is but Elden ring 2 or armored core 6 Sony will 100% lock that down to PlayStation only then pc a year later

I don’t think they do, not Sony proper. The little child company of SIE might, but theyre not the ones in charge of this. Sony hasn’t made their Aniplex games PS Exclusives. They continue to release those on Nintendo Switch and PC platforms. I see Kadokawa in parallel path as the Aniplex acquisition, where nothing changes except their profits fall into Sony accounts instead.
