Sony hides trailer for Star Wars: KoTOR remake and deletes announcement tweet

Do you remember how he behaved in the 7th generation? all I remember is the Doritos memes. OIP

Nah, he tries to portray himself as a neutral, but it’s obvious he’s Playstation bias. Then he always tries to pretend to care about xbox whenever he’s about to have one of his shows. It’s okay to be bias, but don’t try to portray yourself as a neutral when you have a clear bias.

It’s the reason I think Microsoft should just ignore his shows going forward, with the number of studios they will have they can choose to show more throughout the year and completely ignore the game awards.

Once they bolster their base in Japan and start doing more partnerships(and current ones start being shown) or even acquiring studios from more places around the world, all of this will only mean that they will have to treat every gaming related show as a bigger stage to announce stuff.

He’s smart for that, I’ll give him that, an Xbox presence in his shows means that the Xbox community will tune in to watch but the treatment of Xbox exclusives in the awards likely won’t change any time soon, I think Ori and FH5 deserved to at least get nominated, I expect Hi fi rush and Starfield won’t get nominations.

With the views they claimed TGA gets, apparently 100 million last year, I think it would be smart of Xbox to show some exclusives there, seems like the perfect place to show off a big one like Indiana Jones.

Yeah, it’s def a smart thing to do to engage with xbox influencers before the show to give his show more attention. I think there’s a chance that Starfield gets nominated because it’s got a 86 MC on PC and 84 on Xbox. Ghost of Tsushima which has a 83 MC got nominated, so there’s a chance they give Starfield a nomination . However, discourse around it might make it not get a shot and I think Hi-Fi Rush most likely doesn’t get one even though it deserves one

If I’m remembering correctly, Nintendo doesn’t bother with TGA at all. Microsoft is on the way to being able to do the same and not have to deal with the way Geoff often presents their games, while getting the full engagement that they want from their userbase.

It’s odd but Ghost of Tsushima is probably the perfect example of why MC scores don’t actually mean much, when it’s convenient, the way the game was being talked about you would think it scored a 90+ on MC but it didn’t, besides the user scores which have it at 9.1, I imagine that the fact that it was from a less known studio than Bethesda made it easy to not piss people off lol, Starfield was always going to get review bombed.

Nintendo probably needs it less with how well they are doing right now, the Switch is insanely popular.

Not sure exactly who pays for it but I do remember seeing a lot of Switch game ads at the TGAs.

There are enough eyes on the shows (and a lot of non Xbox eyes on it) - that it probably is still worth them being involved. It gets a lot more views than their E3 show does for example. If they can turn a small percent of viewers that aren’t already on the Xbox platform into people who decide to buy a console & a game or 2 (or play them on PC), it’s probably worth it. They’ve got enough games coming up in the next few years that should actually drive expansion because it’s a lot different from the old ā€œHalo Forza Gearsā€ release that people complained about.

  • Sorry, just realized this is probably off topic for Sony / KOTOR

For better or for worse the TGAs get more eyes on it than the great majority of live television programming & most sporting events.

In a situation where you’re dealing with a hostile partner all you can do is use the event for your own purposes.
