This was better than the first game in every way to me. This is the current peak of audio-visual presentation in gaming. Very smart use of off-screen elements to still give the feel of there being multiple combatants attacking you. Much better use of the puzzles. A+ effort from Ninja Theory. Can’t wait for what’s next.

Anyone else get constant controller disconnect errors?
Nothing on my end, just using a regular Xbox controller.

Same here, my partner played the first one and I watched some of it, but never struck me as much my thing.
Have taken a look this evening to check out the graphics and ended up an hour or two in.
Nope?
I didn’t rush through but didn’t search for any collectibles and my playthrough was about 6 1/2 hours with multiple reasons to playthrough again.

Small detail but I love how with subtitles on, text is placed on the right, left or center depending on which side of your head voices are coming from.

This is the new Ryse : Son of Rome, nothing tops this, nothing.
Yep the voices tell me to hurry but I keep stopping and looking out over the vista lol.
Early on there’s a spot where you look over rocks going for miles and they looked just like the real thing in Iceland

Man I can’t deny that I wish the next Tomb Raider would look like this, imagine that. Or just any action adventure that is also just a lot longer in length. We won’t have to wait long to see what TC has been doing with UE5 for Gears of War 6. We are going to be in for a treat…again.

It’s funny that people go on about the graphics in PlayStation first party games, but never once have I seen a screenshot from them where I thought “is that a game or real life?”.
Xbox now has 3 - Flight Sim, Forza Horizon 5 and Hellblade 2

My Potato is really impressing me with this game, never seen anything like it. Feels like when the first time I booted up Shenmue, a real leap forward. Wow.
This is about the only reason I peek at spoiler-free reviews. To see if I should wait for performance patches (which I usually do anyway just because of my backlog!).
