Already posted in a couple threads on here, but let me drop a formal introduction. I spent alot of times lurking on resetera and reading posts on there, but didnt have a paid email address so was never able to set up account and post on there, theyll have been many times I would have liked to have joined the discussion, and plenty of times i didnt get the chance to share my views as i would be proved grossly wrong in time coughcrackdown 3 cough. Also caught the Xboxera podcast and other videos from time to time and made comments on there, similar avatar so you may recognise me from that. So ill recognise a few faces in here and Im excited I will finall be able to join into discussions
Im primarily an Xbox player, I have a ps4 i occasionally play and a whole bunch of retro consoles i use from time to time. Could find the resetera community to be ‘daunting’ to say the least so did find myself taking large breaks from the forum due to this, there seemed to especially be alot of xbox negativity and concern threads pop up on an almost daily basis, although at least the Xbox OT was mostly positive, besides the turbulent times(after the series X gameplay reveal and showcase, E3 2019, Sony’s Insomniac Acqusition). Kept returning back because the forums were a good source to keep up with current news. Hoping this forum can stay a bit more civil than that so I can keep with with news without all the BS, my experience is the smaller a community the more civilized it is, so fingers crossed we can maintain a closenit community
So after that essay, abit about me, Im 28 male (29 on the release date of the Outer Worlds first DLC pack) from the UK, currently work a tedious finance job at a holiday company three days a week, found out recently our local office is closing down, but thankfully my current team was already at its bare minimum that my job is safe, but ill continue working from home for the foreseeable future. Of course, thats not what I want to do for the rest of my life. I studied Computer games art at university, graduated 5 years ago and after a couple failed attempts at indie development, i eventually returned to trying to build my art portfolio and Im aiming to become an Envrionment Artist, very close to finishing my scene which I want to use as my portfolio centrepiece so hopefully Ill start applying for jobs soon. QUite lucky to live in the UK where theres a great deal of Studios to apply to, I have my mind set on one particular studio though that I dont wanna drop the name of on fear I may jinx it, but im sure ill leave plenty hints all over the place

I can’t. Or rather I won’t- my beard hair is extremely coarse and sharp (and about one in four hairs are actually metallic looking and feeling- like frayed brass or copper cable) and it can actually puncture skin after it grows out for a couple of days - so it drives me bananas to the point I have to shave it off. I think the longest I’ve tried is about a week. Hate it.

Hey! Finally a sane place to talk about gaming as an Xbox-fan. Been following Xboxera since the start, and a forum is such a great idea for the site.
Looking forward to many great discussions and to just interact with this community in a positive way without the “concerned” posters and biased moderation of other places.

Hello all. Finally signed up to XboxEra, so I can discuss all things Xbox with this ‘new’ community 
. Place looks good so a a big congratulations to the team.
Hopefully less ‘concern’ trolling and we can discuss our enjoyment as to what Team Green is doing going into next-gen. I do also feel it is equally important that we do not allow this place to become an echo chamber and we will not be ‘afraid’ to call out Microsoft if/when it is called for.

Whoa I got banned at era for “a racist joke” but the link they provide in my ban goes to a story about how I broke my toe.
I have no reasonable way to go find what I was actually banned for.

The image is a math quiz that always ends in “stay at home” No matter what you pick.
The joke is I somehow get Singapore anyway.
“To think I failed Arithmetic …,” and then “and geography “ which I compound by wrongly identifying the citizens of Singapore with the archaic and erroneous “chinamen”

Thank you for this place guys, I’m just fed up with another place that acts like a walking donkey! Mods watch your 6 a few other places promised a premium experience and they’ve gone against their own rules in order to please a select side of gaming. You have a tough job as Xbox mods and I commend you for staying true to your cause!
Please refrain from talking about other forums and drama on those sites. We aren’t a place to discuss things such as this. Please use other outlets for that, not here.
