The next remakes are Resident Evil: Code Veronica & Resident Evil Zero. They should be releasing in 2027/2028, though I’m unclear this second which is coming out first & which second. But that’s what I’d say to expect.
Said this many times over almost two years now it feels.
I don’t like relaying rumors but it’s Dusk Golem, so it has some credibility.
I would allow 0 remake due to the gameplay being…a choice to say the least. Still, since 1 may end up getting one, I wonder if the cycle of remake will ever end.
I guess it will be remade from the ground up, so keeping the characters and story, but with 3rd person perspective and new gameplay so it will be interesting.
I understand. Just that a remake is already done and one that is argued to be peak RE. If it happens, it will be like some South Park joke with the re-re-release. Imagine RE2 gets another in 15 years down the line. All I’m saying is, just do CV. That one begs for it, especially how it was the real 3.
As far as re-re-re-releases go we’ve seen much worse with The Last of Us 1/2, at least a new remake of RE1 will be a much more exciting and meaningful proposal just for the inclusion of a new camera perspective alone plus who knows what Capcom will do with remixing and/or adding new stuff in it…it already sounds way way more interesting than Sony’s lackluster remake efforts.
About the new “rumor” from Dusk besides many times being wrong and in best out of date with his info about stuff I find it weird that the next remake will not be RE5…with how prominent Wesker’s presence was in REmake 4 and the tease at the end RE5 being next seems like a no-brainer. Plus RE5 also makes sense because it will sell great too due to co-op plus the game is much shorter than RE4 and Capcom has complete freedom to change/add stuff without worrying about fans being pissed off (like with RE2/3/4).
That being said Resident Evil is my favorite series so everything RE is always welcome. 
I’ve never played either, so this could be a good entry point for me.
