Just bring it already! My body is ready!
Next Xbox ? I guess it’s the first announced game for the yet to be announced new machine. We’re about to get a lot of speculations about the specs soon.
I wonder what games are gonna be on it outside COD. That’s my real interest.
But for hardware, i wonder how they plan to sell it to current and new users given their recent moves.
By listing in their store, for money.
I don’t imagine the specs are going to be terribly exiciting. Clearly they will be better, but I imagine it will be AMD CPU, AMD GPU, More RAM, Faster SSD, and the return of the power of the cloud.
Just please don’t be built around pushing 1080p internal res with ray tracing and AI upscaling. Games are blurry enough as it is.
What do you mean by that?
You asked what they’ll do to “sell it to current and new users given their recent moves.”
It’s literally a new Xbox that will have access to 20+ thousand xbox one, xbox series, and “xbox next” games at launch. They’ll have video games on it, to sell it to people.
They have really scaled back holding xbox hardware at my local big box stores - I can see this happening now - if not earlier. I can see a release at the end of this calendar year. It seems like they have simply stopped making the X/S.
I think this year is too early, and if they were to announce something I wouldn’t expect them to have any sort of confirmation too early about release date unless they don’t really care about this upcoming holiday season in terms of sales, or if they are planning a Spring 2027 release date for the system.
For it to be released this year I think we’d already heard about it. I wouldn’t mind if they went super aggressive with a new console release this year and a marketing deal with GTA6, but I doubt that’ll happen!
Unless they go small-scale regular releases without fanfare - like the Surface. I do not think MS will go for huge retail/media rollouts with their consoles any longer. That is my hunch.
All (discounting some 360 and Xbox One variants) Xbox consoles have always followed the same pattern. A full announce at E3 in June then a November release. Don’t see why they would change that pattern this time around.
Google tells me with varying gaps in between announce/launch but I’d guess if it’s a 2026 launch then we’d see something on it at the summer showcase.
I think they will change that pattern because they are not doing well in hardware sales. They built a good machine this gen. 30M+ is a decent number. But for the insane amount of money, way too much, they paid for Activision they have to shift priorities.
I mean you just mentioned E3 (dead) and then said why would they change? That old world of 6-7 years then release a new machine seems to be fading fast. You may be right; I may be right. Just a hunch. Take it easy friend
Maybe people would be more likely to be receptive if you weren’t regurgitating the same point across every thread. Not a great look
Changing pattern isn’t easy, especially when you are the underdog. The cellphone model where you constantly release stuff will be hard to swallow for console gamers as no one else will be doing it and consumers will be confused as to what game works on what generation of Xbox and could also complicate things for developers. If everything becomes a PC then of course you could have different profiles I guess but it will always be less optimized than what you get on other m, more closed platforms and will make your product appear inferior.
I personally don’t mind a yearly upgrade and people upgrading whenever they want, but I have a feeling this isn’t something that would work with consoles.
This was like my 7th post on xbox era.
Seeing how I don’t know nor care who you are - I could not care any less about your opinion of my posts.
I hope this next Xbox rumor for 2026 is true, new hardware is always exciting and I’m sure this one would be way different than previous Xbox consoles and all other PC storefronts as well like Steam and perhaps Epic, I want to see if Sony would allow their games to run on this hypothetical machine through Steam
Make it happen Microsoft, also who knows, maybe coming in 1 or 2 years before the PS6 could make Xbox sell better than this generation, you never know.
Also make a handheld as the “Series S” of next gen, instead of it just being the cheaper weaker version, also make it a handheld and who knows what can happen.
Maybe by 2028 Xbox is selling so well that they’ll return to wanting to have exclusives.
Ok that last part isn’t going to happen but the others could.
