ITs a proper remake though. RE2 was nominated as well and almost won.
TLOU for example…is a straight up 1:1 remake that shouldn’t be eligable. Something like a RE4 is an overhaul in design and even story.

I finished it in just under 30 hours (I’m a bit of tourist in these sorts of games).
For fans of the original who were there in 2005 & got caught up in the moment back then, this new one is like a theme park ride with familiar locations being completely overhauled & the essence of the gameplay (which is action) not just respected but actively enhanced as well. I cannot stress how good the parry system is, aka it’s like Dark Souls meets RE4. So my number one advice to new players is upgrade the knife, asap.
From what I’ve played on the system so far, it’s also the best game on the Series X. Graphics included.
