Developer and publisher Ubisoft has announced that their latest game in the slumbering series Prince of Persia, ‘Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown’, will be coming to Xbox consoles on the 18th of January, 2024. Players will take on the role of Sargon, a warrior that must travel to the dangerous and mystical Mount Qaf in search of a kidnapped prince. But he soon finds that its people are under a spell of madness, making his job a whole lot harder.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown will launch on January 18, 2024 for Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and PC, and debuted an animated trailer and a commented gameplay walkthrough during Ubisoft Forward. The Lost Crown’s story centers on Sargon, a warrior who must travel to the mythical and dangerous Mount Qaf in search of a kidnapped prince, only to find its denizens driven mad by a mystery that has unraveled time and unleashed a horde of monsters on the mountain. A side-scrolling platformer, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown features fast-paced gameplay inspired by Metroidvanias.

Looking forward to this game and Game Informer (if I remember correctly) has a 20+ minute gameplay walkthrough on their youtube channel from Summer Game Fest.

The gameplay (movement and combat) is very reminiscent of Metroid Dread which was awesome. Looking forward to this one even though I’m not completely sold on the visuals.
