PlayStation: Xbox's Call of Duty offer was "inadequate on many levels" (Jim Ryan says Xbox offered 3 years beyond current deal)

I find him way too self serving.

Hahaha. Jason was best friends with that paedophile Neogaf owner Tyler Malka, when he was at Kotaku. He used to run an agenda where they used to spread FUD and targeted campaigns against XBOX.

The majority of journalists and influencers are old people who grew up with PlayStation and got used to Sony strength and its victory in every generation over all competitors, but when Microsoft decided to open its wallet, they felt the danger that Sony would be affected and maybe be out of the competition if Microsoft continued to open its wallet over the coming years

I’ve been watching him since 2014. Never liked him.

He’s always came off snobbish and holier than thou.

Funny he forgets all that when Jimmy wants more profits

Whenever Papa Sony is in trouble count on Dorito Pope to White Knight for them. If only he displayed that much effort with everything we might actually get a straight answer of when/if FF7 is coming to xbox!

WUT I didn’t know that

Yup it’s why Microsoft should really try get some more family friendly games, so they can get their own fans like Nintendo and Sony fans haha.

The irony is that it does not apply for COD :joy: Due to Xbox 360 a lot of journous grew up playing COD on Xbox, so even PS4 failed to make PS into the platform for COD as various COD games still are in top played on Xbox.

Tbh making a good shooter doesn’t seem hard many do it. Titanfall 2 was imo the best multiplayer shooter since black ops 2. Respawn are now focusing on apex, but they could have made Titanfall 3 into a behemoth.

They sign deals every game OR multi year deals. Sony signed a 5 year deal with activision in 2020 iirc

In theory this argument also makes it easier for FTC. Microsoft can just state that by having less platforms and by stopping COD being annual, they take a hit and do better for their workers.

HAIL TO THE KING DORITO

It has been eye opening seeing some of the reactions from those in the gaming media about this today, Geoff comes to mind especially, saying he will reach out to Xbox to get an answer… Did he also reach out to Playstation to let us know when we can expect to get FF7R and FF16 on Xbox? it’s really annoying to me how the media has seemingly been playing defense for Sony since like 2013, they don’t get any criticism for raising the price of the PS5 or the straight up Xbox killer moves the last 8 years. I’d be shocked if Microsoft even considers making COD exclusive tbh, I can see marketing, bundles and Gamepass day one but nothing else.

Xbox will probably just let it stay multiplat this whole gen which is probably 5 years more then at the start of next gen Xbox launches with call of duty as a next gen exclusive.

I don’t have any thoughts about Geoff as a person. I don’t know him and have no place to speak ill of him.

I can, however, say that within the video-game industry I find him to be exceedingly inauthentic. He found a way to enrich himself using a exploding industry as a launchpad for himself. To his credit he puts in the work and and reaps the rewards. At no point has anything he has ever said or done felt genuine to me. When someone is excited about something you generally feel their excitement and I just don’t get that when he is on screen.

With that said, my reaction to those feelings is the simplest and healthiest. I just don’t consume his content or pay attention to him.

Like others have pointed out. Jim Ryan is unwisely bringing attention to the fact that COD could be an Xbox exclusive in a few years. This news comes as a shock to some casual gamers.

Reminds me of this tweet awhile back.

That’s for marketing specifically though from my understanding.

Microsoft will pull the card “The first Bethesda console game is Xbox exclusive.” Like Sony did with FF7R.

TES will always be PC first and Xbox second. No reason to release it on Sony especially when you block the biggest feature of any Bethesda game: Modding.

Phil Spencer already talked about it being exclusive.
