PlayStation acquires Housemarque and Nixxes Software

probably the pc port studio?

I guess they’ll be used as a support studio? It’s definitely interesting.

Thank you, I’ll update the topic and title to reflect this.

BluePoint emphasized their independence in their bio. Not so sure the acquisition was finished.

They are independent until they aren’t.

They are not in arms race and also prefer organic growth :joy:

Acquisition to add technical talent so they can port more games to PC? That’s a good thing in my book.

Edit: Come on guys, it’s not a studio. You know the main reason people complain about acquisitions is game exclusivity. This is the opposite.

So funny, not only are Sony going against several statements they have made to try and dunk on Xbox for the Bethesda purchase they just bought a game company that pretty much only does PC ports, further cementing Sony’s desire to not have any exclusives and put their games on PC, ironically just like Xbox

Seriously Sony and MS are doing practically the same thing, the only difference is Sony flat out lies about it and their fans are in complete denial

Another excellent studio acquisition by Sony and smart too. Nixxes can port all their exclusives to PC as opposed to having the internal studios do extra work. What a great unexpected move. Wonder if Sony still acquires Bluepoint Games or if it truly was an error.

So, now it not that kind of studio right? I mean acquisitions related to SIE are the acquisitions.

Yea its weird

Great purchase for them. Should make the work load on porting PC games a lot easier for the studios

After what Bluepoint did to their Twitter profile it might have been a mistake, although it would be really weird because the two companies are completely different.
