I wouldn’t make any bets that it won’t be on PS4
Same for me and agreed. $229M for Insomniac has to be one of the biggest steals in gaming history.
FInish R&C and it was solid, but felt like there was something missing for me. It’s my first time playing series and I was expecting more due to reviews and fan reaction. I enjoyed for the most part, but just something felt off for me, but can’t put my finger on it. At the end of the day the game didn’t feel like a $70 game and felt it should’ve been priced similar to Miles. However, graphics and performance were great
This is why I try to avoid reviews and hype as much as I can. Can’t tell you the number of times I played a game people wouldn’t shut up about and didn’t have a life-changing experience. It’s also why I try to give grounded recommendations when it comes to games that did blow me away
I’m sure that this game is really good! Insomniac are very talented and know how to make a great game, and I’m looking forward to playing it in several years when I have a PS5 and it’s a lot cheaper.
Hots up?
I completely agree. It is probably an 8/10 for me and looks and plays great, but it isn’t anywhere near the homerun IMO that some are describing. It Takes Two is in an entirely different league for GOTY in my opinion in terms of being truly creative with some incredible co-op game design and telling a meaningful story while they are at it. That was far more playing in a Pixar movie than more Ratchet and Clank, even if it is nice looking.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a great game but at the end of the day, it’s just more Ratchet. I have no interest in Psychonauts 2 but I can say just by watching their trailers, it’s way more unique and original than Rift Apart.
I bought ratchet and clank and soon realized this type of game isn’t for me. I find it very boring but fun to look at. The PS5 SSD hype marketing got me.
R&C is the best game I’ve played this year. Now to start on FFVIIR - waited a long time to play it
Same.
Finished Ratchet and got the plat. It was the main game I got my PS5 for and why I went with that console first.
Hardest trophy was the kill 10 enemies with their own projectiles. I really enjoyed it and the graphics were really sweet. I will agree it is a tad bit too short to warrant the 70 dollar price tag but I had already prepared myself for that bullet. That said, I am disappointed now that its over. Definitely need more.
How would you feel about a hypothetical support model where they add a new level or planet or whatever every six months or something like that? Would you be willing to pay for additional playable content? Just curious to know (I haven’t played the game).
I’m not into live service games like others may be. I’m not into daily/weekly/monthly content and would prefer just straight forward paid expansions. Think The Witcher III. This is my preference. My only pet peeve is that I want to know the post launch roadmap before the base game releases because if there’s no expansions or if the expansions are not what I want them to be, I buy the game on disc and trade it in like I did an hour ago with Ratchet.
I do prefer expansions that are later on (like the rumored expansion for Tsushima) to be standalone so I can just buy and play them outright instead of having to get back the base game. As for Rift Apart, I wouldn’t be surprised if there is an expansion featuring Rivet. If it’s the same quality as the base game and worth the price content/length wise, I would most likely jump back in.
But minor content is a pass for me.
Ha this is the last trophy I need for the plat. Game looks amazing and plays great, but it’s a bottom tier R/c game for me. Still a good game but it just doesn’t feel as good as the previous few games to me.
My PS5 time now will go back to replaying TLOU2 with the patch. Fuck I hate Abby and she nearly ruins the entire game for me. I’m glad to see I’m not the only one because a lot of places just slob her figurative knob and I never understood it. She’s literally the cause of everything that happens in that game.
That would depend heavily on whats in the content and pricing for me. A planet every six months would be cool but idk if 40 dollars each planet would work financially for me.
That trophy was only a struggle cause I upgraded the gun with raritanium.
I didn’t downright hate TLOU2, I enjoyed the gameplay, graphics, and sound design but Abby’s plight was a miss for me.
I mean the gameplay is great and it looks phenomenal, but I hated the entire second half of the game thanks to Abby because like you said I didn’t care about her plight, and definitely didn’t sympathize with her at all.
Had to post a few current pictures of my gaming setup and my now all solid black PlayStation 5 baby!!! Whoooo!!! I am now whole. lol.
Also includes a few pictures of the PlayStation 5 after I switched out the cover plates.
Niiiiice! That’s so much better-looking! Glad you’re satisfied with the results
Thanks. I’m super thrilled. It’s no longer an eye sore that sticks out like a sore thumb. lol. Now, it just blends right in. Love it!!!
