I disagree there. This State of Play had a very strong lineup with big hitters like RE4 Remake, SF6, FF16. It was basically mini showcase. And fully third party.

RE4 has never been a true horror. Not even close to RE7 or 8
I do wonder if they will preserve some goofy stuff from RE4.

I didnt say it was amazing but it was definitely a solid state of play.
It was solid, I went in expecting nothing as usual, and I was surprised.

Oh I know! It’s just usually horror oriented (or slightly themed even) games are ones I usually drop and I’m not sure why.
Like I love Alien Isolation, but I’ve dropped it like three different times now. Same with Dead Space 3, Outlast 2, RE5, TEW, etc.

This developer who is making this game apparently played Persona 5, loved it so much he then played PS4G, and then PS3 FES. Loved those game so much that he decided to quit his day job and make his own Persona game #Eternights

- Haven’t really found anything else, no idea if he was a former developer, or if it’s a Tunic situation where he is mainly doing most of the work himself then outsourcing areas he needs help with.
I thought a rumor said it was almost done, and the devs spoked up and said the development was going well?
Not a lot of people have good sources in Japan. And the people that spread these rumours certainly don’t have any at all.

Hm, that explains how that game got shown then. Sony won’t show an anime game if it’s actually from Japan for some reason. China or US, perfectly fine. Japan, nope we can’t show that.
I’m hoping that Microsoft has a few third party games get revealed on their showcase or if it’s already been announced, a gameplay trailer.

Didn’t they promote the hell out of Persona 5 way back in like 2015-16?
RE4 is a bit outdated in terms of its stop and shoot mechanics now. Playing for first time won’t have that effect.
No? It was the reverse. They notoriously did NOT market it.
I’ve posted this video before but it’s just too truthful and legendary. It’s actually from 2016 as well. Watch a bit to see what I meant by that.
If I remember right they only actually started caring about Persona 5 AFTER it started selling a million and won that “Best RPG” award. Before that? Cold shoulder.
Did they? PErsona 5 was one of those lets release in japan first then 5 years later in the west type games so not as much marketing.
Jesus Christ, Sony is feeding us pc gamers too much! The only thing that surprised me there was Spiderman and miles morales ports. I genuinely was one of those that though everything minus Spiderman would be the ones ported to PC. This fiscal year alone we probably have:
- GOW 2018.
- Uncharted 4.
- Spiderman and Spiderman Miles Morales.
- Returnal.
- Sackboy.
- Factions (and I could see part 2 here too)
- Unknow GAS title.
Also they are not taking anything from PC now (well, aside from FFXVI and VR stuff everything will be on PC). Not to mention Spiderman wasn’t on the Nvidia leak so that definitely leaves the floodgate open for pc ports…
I’m aslo surprised there didn’t “take” anything of substantial from xbox (not counting FF) interesting.
FF is still up in the air. It was originally announced as a timed exclusive with 6 months to PC. 12 months to other consoles.
MY prediction is SE see the potential sales and lack of PS5 install base and get that game PC day and date.
I don’t think Sony care too much because they can’t sell enough PS5’s anyway. Just a little rpediction of mine
Still a year exclusivity though from Xbox if it even happens.
As for taking games away from Xbox. Its much MUCH harder for Sony to do that. Publishers aren’t gonna agree to that so easily. Especially with people like Capcom who have a great relationship with MS. SE japan is another issue.
Shout outs to Sony they can put out hype shows without even needing to show first party games. They definitely know their audience. As always Japanese content is king. Don’t think their will be much from any of the other shows over the week that will top RE, FF16, and SF hype.
