PlayStation 5 |OT| This SSD has no limits

In my personal experience the choice on PS+ is typically older games compared to GP.

The main thing I’m waiting for is the next Naughty Dog game or Wolverine, but who knows how long I’ll be waiting.

PS+ is good for those who just started gaming like right now. If you are up-to-date since ever, then it’s a bit 50/50 in terms of desire. It’s why they’re still struggling to grow, though at the very least managed to migrate some users to upper tier.

PlayStation Plus Extra is excellent if you skipped/passed on PlayStation 4 or bought it near the end of it’s life cycle. Majority of Sony’s first party games from the PlayStation 4 generation is available in that tier.

In general, both subscription services are nearly identical with the only exception being that Microsoft has their games in the service day one and gets third party games day one as well. If this ever changes or ends, then there’s literally no difference as both would be the same shit.

I somehow missed this new trailer of Stellar Blade:

The ‘sword surfing’ and water traversal right at the beginning is the first time I have seen something which made me quite interested.

That’s definitely something that’s new but there is something where Eve is in a tunnel surfing and avoiding obstacles. It’s in one of their previous trailers.

Crazy how similar it is.

Yeah, now I guess I want to play it…

There’s a MGS V hole in my heart…

As someone who played 60 hours of MGS 5 and then dropped it, it doesn’t play like Helldivers 2 at all. First it’s way too slow paced, based on stealth and not killing enemies. The only similarity are the animations.

I was going to say they won’t cancel Horizon because of its name, but then I remember Factions. I guess they’re hoping to coincide with TV series when it’s ready.

I think Todd Howard as said the same thing. It seems their next game could be the last for both of them (TLOP3 and TES 6)

I think its Until dawn 2

To be fair Todd more said this would likely be his last Elder Scrolls game. It was less an active plan to retire and more acknowledging that at the current rate a theoretical ES7 is nearly 20 years away.

So a Fallout 5 possibly will still be under him? But I do get it, and I have faith that he will make sure he leaves it to people that can follow in his footsteps.

There’s no reason to think he won’t be at this stage, though yeah hopefully when he does retire he has a solid successor at Bethesda.

Except while it’s nice to have a big collection of older titles, what attracts people is the day 1 stuff, which is why Gamepass is the only one that makes sense. It’s like asking if people subscribe to Netflix to watch Jurassic Park or to Disney + to watch Cinderella? Of course they don’t, they subscribe for the latest season of Stranger Things as well as The Madalorian. If there was no new content day 1 they wouldn’t grow and attract people, which is the reason why Netflix and Disney both spend billions every year on new day 1 content for the subscription services. A gaming service with mostly older games isn’t really that appealing, especially in a world of fomo and almost all games losing their appeal within 6 months of release to most gamers. So much content fighting for people’s time and so few hours in a day means people gravitate towards the newer stuff. PS+ only makes sense at the lowest tier as it’s necessary to play online.
