I really doubt it’s that far out. They’ve got Starfield’s tech base to work from and they will know the hardware. The end of this gen is more likely, 2027/2028.

Fallout 5 will be next gen though.

Fallout 5 for the start of next gen would be huge.

Fallout 4 was 2 years after the start of the gen, and I think Fallout 5 will be similar.

I know it won’t happen, but I want this gen to go on for as long as possible, due to Covid and the console shortages and the lack of games in the first few years (not just from Xbox but everyone). I would honestly be happy with a 2030 start for next gen, although 2028/2029 is probably more likely.

I sometimes think of Obsidian as the Insomniac of Xbox: quantity and quality of titles.

Hopefully they let them do it. I think they would be perfectly fine doing non numbered Fallout games. Lets get some Fallout Pacific Northwest going.
