According to Rich Ledbetter, a Switch Pro or ‘Super Switch’ is still in development, even though this isn’t it. That’s reassuring at least, as he isn’t your standard loose-lipped ‘insider’:

I think probably the information for a potential “Switch 2” got mixed with the information for the OLED model. I wonder if we are talking about a Switch 2, when that would come out. Probably 2024, lol, jk

In most aspects, Nintendo is really so far behind their competitors that is hurts, lol. They are in a very confortable position, and they seem to be so slow to innovate when it comes to basic aspects like stores and online experiences.

I was listening to KFGD yesterday and Greg was talking about how when he buys his OLED Switch he’ll have to take it to Gamestop and have them plug the new Switch into his old one to transfer his save games etc. and I was just like whaaa? Is this for real?

Well, correct me if I’m wrong, but I think could saves are locked behind their subscription, so maybe it is true.

I wasn’t sure they had cloud saves at all… I remember hearing about Animal Crossing locking saves to your hardware. Either way, I’m completely spoiled now by Microsoft’s approach of “Log into any console anywhere and it just works.” Couldn’t go back to any manual transfer system.

I’m not sure about the rest, but I can say that Animal Crossing saves are different from most. They save to a separate partition or something.

Gamespot has the special transfer cable for it. But even that is confusing to use. One side says OLED, the other side says OLD

This is honestly the worse product I’ve seen in a long time. 400€ in Spain (471 USD) and the only noticable “”"“upgrade”"" you get is a bigger screen BUT resolution stays the same, meaning games will look much worse even though it’s OLED lololol

$540 dollarydoos down under. Already had little to no interest in Nintendo and prices like that’ll put me off ever considering it.

nope, it’s just imported here from what I know of. It’s worse when Switch has documented persistent issues like Joycon drift and all that, which would require an active and robust repair and servicing infrastructure which isn’t there, making it even more difficult to want to invest in an imported switch either.

I had a gut feeling a more powerful switch wasn’t this year if it doesn’t exist next year then at that point just save it for the switch 2 or whatever it’s name will be
