My quiet XSX is starting to make sounds

I have a launch day XSX and it’s been consistently quiet up until 2 weeks ago. The best way I can describe it is the late 90’s / early 2000’s hdd loading/rumbling noise on a compaqt presario computer from circuit city.

Has anyone else experienced this or have any thoughts on what could be causing the issue?

And it definitely is only happening during memory/loading sequences such as selecting a game or app on the dashboard.

Do you have an external hdd connected? Because that generally what makes the noise for me. Even when not actually using it to load a game or an app from it.

One and done. I’ve had the passport external hooked up since launch so I never figured it was a problem. :pray:
