Just hit me, but Microsoft may have esports on lock by having COD, OW, Halo, Hearthstone, and I think Heroes of the Storm is still big. I would’ve added startcraft 2 but I don’t think its that big anymore

I have said before that MS will have to have something as leverage on Sony to accept GP on Playstation. CoD could be it. I don’t know why some are in denial that this is probably what MS want. “Platforms where Game Pass exists” wasn’t said like that for nothing.

sony might not allow it since they will have their own version coming and likely will be copying microsoft’s strategy
Also, I think many are forgetting there’s a supply shortage for both consoles especially for the PS5. I think this can easily shift to people stop scouring for a PS5 and get a Xbox series console since it will ensure they’ll get COD games. I think many forget that COD is the highest earning console game, and if the message is sent early that Microsoft owns COD. Then we’ll see a bunch jump onto xbox for COD since I felt many of the xbox 360 cod players left for Playstation last gen

Here’s the proposition to Sony: allow Game Pass on Playstation or forget about CoD on Playstation.
If COD goes exclusively Xbox… all the Twitch etc streamers are going Xbox… guess where their followers are going too?
COD exclusive will bring millions to Xbox alone…

They won’t allow it. GP on PS consoles will be basically submitting defeat.

It would definitely be interesting to see the reactions if this happened. Microsoft can claim they’re winning because more people will be playing their games. Sony can still claim they’re winning because what’s the point of buying an Xbox if all of their games are on Playstation? At that point Microsoft has basically voluntarily chosen to be a third-party developer, which is what the PS fanboys have been saying will happen for 20 years now.

- It would be a public admission by Sony that they need xbox to survive

I don’t see Sony being willing to accept it regardless. When they do, it will be too late to matter.
