Microsoft-Activision-Blizzard Discussion Thread (Part 1)

What cloud service does Nintendo use ?

EU is doing the same stuff, after the midterms this will be a big thing i think this will be the extreme rights main talking point and a lot of people will follow along with it. how can somebody block a deal between American companies who have no employee’s or business in their country. This is setting American companies up to fail. U.S Congress or The States these business reside better get this in check quick with legislation or whatever they need to do.

One that doesn’t count… :troll:

So a similar situation to Facebook, or Arm/Nvidia.

Competition regulation is a hot topic in India too these days…

Google has been fined around $167M in India

They basically pay device manufacturers more share to not put third party app stores on there phones

Google and Apple are basically doing the same thing that Microsoft did in 90s. Nobody learns from history

Well, if MS manage to close the deal withouth bigger problems I proclaim her the GOATEST GOAT

The team Alaily leads aimed to torpedo Nvidia’s $40 billion bid for chipmaker Arm, a deal Microsoft believed would harm it and others in the tech industry by raising the licensing costs for Arm’s chip designs (Microsoft uses chips based on Arm designs for servers and other products). Alongside her boss, Microsoft president Brad Smith, and Microsoft’s outside counsel at the time, Jonathan Kanter, Alaily crafted the arguments Microsoft put forward to urge the Federal Trade.

Now Alaily is helping fend off similar efforts to sink one of the largest acquisitions in tech industry history—Microsoft’s $69 billion takeover of videogame publisher Activision Blizzard, which faces investigations by British and European regulators and the FTC, as well as opposition from Microsoft rival Sony.

Target is ready to accept ABK to be Xbox family with their Black Friday special. Why can’t we just accept the inevitable.

They are very brazen with that deal. It is like an open challenge to the regulators.

I wonder why MS have not raised the point of ‘day and date’ yet?

PS+ is simply don’t want to compete with Gamepass

Are they holding the best weapon for the last

Day and date is a wholly irrelevant subject IMO. Disney + does one episode a week. Netflix drops all episodes day 1 . They’re both streaming services

Probably something they don’t think helps the case. Could be something pointed at that Playstation “can’t” compete with

they do bring that up

Agreed. Many try framing PS+ as if it wasn’t competing with Game Pass due to no Day 1 stuff, but that is a real silly and arbitrary distinction to make. They both def are competing.

Completely disagree

As a consumer, PS+ forces players to play the first party game atleast 1 year late from its release

Gamepass gives you the option to play day and date

You would atleast agree that this makes gamepass more attractive then PS+

Sony may argue that exclusivity of CoD on Gamepass subscription service is what could harm the growth of PS+ but actually it is the fact that they themselves don’t offer day and date on PS+ first party games. And As a result there adoption of PS+ by consumers via is lower then Gamepass. They blame CoD exclusivity here, but in reality they are restricting themselves on the growth.

When it comes to growth potential and likeability, these services differ from each a lot.

MS may even say for this every reason the price increase of Gamepass is valid because the “Silmilar” service (as per you as you say they both compete) has more price then Gamepass currently in the same console market.

Edit: and maybe next time don’t call someone else’s idea on public forum silly. Maybe ask them first the complete context and then give your advice
