Microsoft-Activision-Blizzard Discussion Thread (Part 1)

They already did. This is countering Sony’s claims on the public-front…

Thanks for sharing, I found this part particularly interesting:

With all of the continuous arguments on this forum about which console game is bigger, it just shows how insignificant it is compared to mobile…

Considering that they have created a website, they can probably create some comics or manga for this acquisition. Maybe even short TV series at the end :joy:

and how incredibly tiny the cloud gaming market is right now

I imagine that is something they’ll be banging over the head of these regulators, I get why it would be a point of concern but when it represents such a tiny portion of the market right now, it’s all based on what if’s rather than reality

Microsoft 100% know what they are doing with all of it.

I know the CMA, EU etc won’t be giving their verdict for a while but I do believe the US/FTC is getting to its final stages.

They where informed several months before the others and went to phase 2 I believe in April. I get they can continue extending stuff but surely the FTC will be the first (big) regulatory to give a verdict.

Diablo 4 will be the first Diablo game for me and we’ll game pass please

Pfff…Xboss would just send Amazon a care package consisting of one (1) Phil Harrison as a gift welcoming them to the big kids table of the industry! hehe

I know a lot about Pac-Man. Way more than most would ever care to since I basically ported it to Project Spark as a straight port. I had NO IDEA it generated a billion friggin dollars just in the US alone in a single year. That is WILD to me. 0.0

Really interesting infographic there.

Came here to post this, I thought the website was because of how confident they actually are, I don’t like this, deal better pass, ABK games on Gamepass would be great for millions of consumers.

The deal is gonna pass. To me, it is more MS laying out how things are, and how beneficial this acquisition is for everyone. The deal is gigantic, so of course MS is tring to explain everything as clear as they can to both the public and regulators.

This was my first instinct as well when I saw the blog.

Hmmm don’t like that Hoeg is thinking they are nervous

Just hoping this won’t create another doom and gloom situation because Hoeg thinks MS thinks they are not confident ( which is maybe not even their intention ).

My belief remains solid.

Same, people tend to see things in a negative light.

Yeah, I mean we had takes about spinning off Azure and feeling the guilt of having exclusive games :joy:

From what I can see, Microsoft is essentially using this deal too spearhead their initiave of breaking the walled gardens of Google and Apple, while at the same gaining the huge public approval for their future acquisitions and actions. Basically they are using this deal - due to sheer size and the way all people are looking at it - as a huge marketing banner for Game Pass.

It’s a content farm. The sooner people stop being concerned at every tiny development, the better.
