They seem the most sensible regulator so I’m sure MS would work with them to make this more worldwide, Microsoft probably wants a global single deal to make it easier to implement.
Also if anything this new deal lessens their concerns even more.

I don’t like the way the deal keeps on getting delayed, the terms are now changing, the EU could be re-opening the case… & yet we still see the same positive “everything will be okay guys!” spin.
Yet no one saw this Ubisoft curveball coming & up until a few hours ago the positive spin had us believe this could be settled by the last week of August.
The EC looking into the restructured deal is a nothing burger, as long as it doesnt fck with the EC comittments there wont be any issues
Microsoft pushed it until October for a reason evidently. I suppose it’s best to not listen to arm chair analysts on the internet.
This is a “curveball” for everyone but MS and CMA, they’ve been talking about this for awhile this isn’t a sudden thing.
He’s a Brit proud that his country can show power in such questionable way.
Do yourselves a favor and stay off Twitter, the amount of morons on there right now will drop your IQ by 50 points
I suggest to do this regardless
The CMA/FTC painted themselves into a corner by making it about the cloud, a very small part of the Xbox division. Indeed, One of the MS/Xbox execs was revealed as saying that they hope the Xbox team wasn’t going to invest too much into the cloud. This was a good thing for the deal overall because the tech won’t take off in a big way just yet.
As for not reaching a deal within 20 months, even MS expected the deal to close around June/July this year, so only a few months out. It really isn’t a big delay and looks likely to close in favor of MS, from what I’ve seen.
Microsoft is washing their hands of streaming control for ABK titles for the next 15 years, but still gets all of the benefits. The CMA had better accept this. The judge already said they’ll lose if it goes back to appeal
The streaming rights divestiture was what was rumored when they re-opened talks last month. The fact that it’s with Ubisoft is new, but the who isn’t really important.
Why Ubisoft? I did not know they have cloud tech at Ubisoft lol. The hell, this came out of nowhere.
Xbox with ABK as a Xbox only gamer;
Xbox without ABK as a Xbox only gamer;
I don’t think they do. I think it’s just through Luna now and Stadia previously.
This not gone to affect us in anyways right. I don’t see how it can. We still get the games. Does not matter to me if cloud version is on other platform. Cloud is still so niche.
I think its kind of the point that they don’t have cloud tech; they have the incentive to license it to as many providers as possible
Yeah it’s why I did the pros vs cons, we’ll get Cod on GP forever
So Ubisoft is using Amazon AWS? This means Amazon will benefit from this the most. Fucking Hell. Amazon is Microsoft biggest competitor in cloud tech.
The issue is that this is a battle between the EU and CMA. I can see the EU wanting to exert their authority here and MS ending up caught in the middle. What a mess.
