Itâs been wild watching a bunch of people who talk like a bunch of 14 year old edge lords cosplaying discount Elon Musk after suffering a massive stroke weave their own reality around this deal over the last few weeks.
I get the audience there doesnât like it the deal, but the degree to which they stuck with âthe deal wonât be approved and weâre the only ones smrt enough to see that.â was just crazy.
Thereâs a big difference between not liking the deal (whatever) and creating your own alternative reality fanfiction to cope until the moment it becomes undeniable. Then getting mad and blaming everyone else for not living out your own weird fantasy.

Also, the FTC is still doing their own internal trial and this just absolutely nukes it. I fully expect an announcement they are dropping it in the next couple of weeks.

imo Jim Ryan actually got a W here. I know it may be an unpopular statement here, but Jim ryan got a good consolation prize of getting COD guaranteed for 10+ years. I believe the original offer was 3 years, then 10, and now it seems itâs longer than 10 years

Deserved, I remember staying the hell away from places like Twitter and gaming forums because of their toxicity, one time in 2017 or 18 iirc I checked a Phil tweet and like 80% of the comments were PS fanboys posting gifs, social media really wasnât and still isnât tbh, a friendly place to people who just wanted to talk Xbox in a positive light, this is why I became a huge fan of communities like the Facebook fan groups and Redditâs Subreddits, it really help to keep the toxic people away, sadly places like Gaf (when they were somewhat of a serious forum) and then other era never really did a good job getting rid of the toxic fanboys.
And Iâm not saying that there arenât awful Xbox fanboys but since like 2010-11, which is when I started to follow gaming closer in forums, news and social media, PS fanboys always stood out to me as being especially toxic.

Microsoft was never going to remove COD, it might look like he got something but he didnât. This whole 3/10 year deal was just for regulators, Minecraft doesnât have a deal yet they didnât remove it and it wouldâve been the same.

Yeah my guess is that it is longer than 10 years, maybe a deal that guarantees COD for the lifetime of the PS5, PS6 and PS7? who knows, that would be at least 20 years.

Agreed, but itâs always great to get everything on paper. So, getting that guaranteed on paper that COD canât be removed is key, and Jim was able to get that. Iâve always been along the lines of COD and other MTX heavy games like OW and possibly diablo will stay on Playstation. However, I could see Diablo 5 being xbox only since I donât think the MTX makes crazy amount of money tbh
