I had him blocked, not sure why… Well, consider him unblocked and followed :joy:

Something something reminder that some of the loudest, most self-assured voices are not always as correct as they position themselves to be…

It should be noted that this is coming from someone who’s admittedly been wrong about this case, and plenty others through the years. Remember folks, I was Team2022, so I too know a thing or two about being wrong

The absence of a very clear “no” from Nadella is a bit telling,

Microsoft is going to do everything they can to close this deal.

Im not convinced they will do it, but Im starting to become less convinced that they wont.

The UK represents about 6 Billion in business, for comparison in the US Microsoft does 100 billion/year. The rest of the world is about 100 billion. Activision alone generates more revenue per year than the entire UK does for MS.

If the trade off is 6 billion in business short term for the long term ability to continue to grow your business…maybe.

It’s smart to say nothing

If he says yes, we will stop selling in the UK that will sound like a threat and go over badly

If he says no, they wouldn’t do that then they are giving possible leverage away

Saying nothing allows speculation and leverage even if they have zero intention or ever pulling any products

The U.K. is a considerable larger pot than that and their turnover is routed through Ireland and the EU for tax reasons so it’s not a known amount.

It’s simply not going to happen and Nadella having a laugh in an interview is being taken to ridiculous levels. Tom Warren is on the money here.

It’s not happening and forget the revenue for a second…it would completely destroy Microsoft’s reputation globally they’d not be trusted by regulators, countries, and would lose huge swathes of their business. Just the NHS alone and the impact of them no longer using MS products would have a massive international knock on effect.

And he was having a laugh and not exactly taking it seriously either….

You telling me the thing that many have said is impossible and not a solution might not be so impossible after all .

Imagine the shit show if they pulled every single Microsoft product out of the UK including stuff the gov use and security stuff that would be INSANE I don’t think it would happen but the scramble to get something in place would be wild.

You mean the same regulators that all approved the deal and see the UK as simply being obstructionist. Those regulators are going to be upset?

They definetly should do this if cat appeal fails. This would show cma that dumb acts may cause bad consequences. Im all in for big tech regulation, however in this case they are licensing abk games for free for cloud providers. It is not hard science to come with a conclusion as the EU; this will help this market or segment to grow. Furthermore, console needs more competition. The industry are in this deal, cloud providers are in, gamers are in. If cma decision is not irrational, i dont know what it is.
