Appeal process will take really long, wonder what moves microsoft will make for gaming in the mean time?

Imagine being an investor and being told sorry one of the only companies that can afford to buy you out isnât allowed. I feel so bad for the workers as well, the whole union thing being pulled from them last minute like this.

Technically the CMA has absolutely no enforcement to fine a US company today. They have no trade agreement with the US since they left the EU. Microsoft could effectively ignore them, should they decide to stop business in the UK while they figure everything out.

I can also imagine MS having some strong words with the British government, especially over CMAâs nonsense. There is a gaming UK event today I think.

Blocking the whole damn thing over Cloud just sounds nuts to me lol.

Yup, rare, ninja theory and playground are all uk based, plus they have many minor studios scattered around the country. Plus im british based and wanna work as an environment artist so i dont want those to relocate anywhere

They could divest them to another publisher which they take maj stake in.
While they are, Activison makes more money than the UK provides for Microsoft.

At this point all the cloud companies should just sue the hell out of CMA.
As somebody who is basically using cloud exclusively. This is by far the dumbest outcome. The number of times Iâve had random disconnects, had the screen freeze in the middle of gameplay, had the input lag randomly spike to like 500ms, or the screen turn into pixelated mush proves that thereâs ZERO chance that gamers will ever choose cloud over local for a game like COD thus making cloud concerns irrelevant.
