Great review, I preordered my Collector’s Edition back in April, now I just have to wait… which is a bit harder after reading this :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I guess that’s why they don’t want Xbox to market it. They marketed an absolute banger.

Great review.

I am so ready for this game. I’ve already played the prologue (demo) twice.

Glad to see it’s reviewing well, will definitely try and get to it by Xmas!

Question for the reviewer, iirc there is a story mode too, in terms of difficulty mode, right?

So for example you can’t really enjoy turnbased combat, especially not for so many hours, is it truly a walk in the park with the lowest difficulty setting? Because that’s me. I can stand TB battles a while until I don’t and I might drop it. Can I just enjoy the story, characters, locations, atmosphere without having to worry too much about TB combat on “easy”?

Lets go! Great review

Hello hello!

Ran to check real quick, there is a “Focus on Story” mode that eliminates the risk of dying in battle! Mind, I haven’t played the game on this difficulty, but I assume like recent ATLUS titles you will be resurrected on death. There’s a demo out, so do give it a try and see for yourself if it’ll work for your playstyle  Progress transfers over to the full game too!

Thanks for the reply!

Yep, I played the demo last week but not on that difficulty and I’ve removed after finishing it. Thought I’d ask.

It sounds like it might be for me then. I wish I could fully enjoy TB combat, tried it many times but it just won’t click with me, ah well.

Just pre ordered. Shattered space, this, Dragon Age, Dragon Quest and Indiana Jones will have me busy for a long long time!

Looking forward to this game but due to backlog and everything else might end up being put on the back burner for a bit. Going to hopefully finish persona 3 reload here before black ops comes out and have time off for Thanksgiving so might grab it then and push dragon age further back.

Granted i still need to finish infinite wealth also lol

Great review Genghis. Looking forward to this. I missed the initial reveal of this one, so it only came on my radar when it was at the Xbox Showcase. I played the demo not to completion as I knew I wanted to do it again, and it’s not long before release.

Great review! game sounds amazing and I can’t wait to play this! Sega and Atlus are on a roll this year!

I have reached the 40 hr mark on this game, 45 hrs because of reloading shinanigans on my part, and I’m loving every minute.

Currently in the third city/town in the game Breilhaven, I have already completed the required main quest and had several days to burn through when all my confidants decided that now was the time to bombard me with personal quests. With only 4 days to go, I have some free time to travel 3 days away to do a dungeon for a side quest, before getting back turning in the quest and prepare for the next phase.

Recently finished the fourth main dungeon, and currently doing the side dungeons in the area.

Atlus really took the weather a step or 3 above P5R,because I can’t remember weather ever being an issue that I needed to watch out for until this game(but I haven’t played much of the smt series so maybe it’s a bigger thing there). While fighting enemies in bad weather means they’re worth more XP, the draw backs are not really worth it because of how the turn based mechanics work. So it feels like I’m struggling through everything, whenever I fight enemies in bad weather.

The story beats also have me like:

65hrs in and I haven’t yet gotten 20 achievements, so either I’m going to have really low achievements at the end or things are only getting to the point where achievements aren’t a grind. Saw one that had me going yeah that’s expect, at least I only need to do it once, but I didn’t check out all the secret achievements.

Anyways, having a ton of fun with Metaphor, fully engaged and likely to play through again as soon as I’m finished. The wild thing though, is that there are people that have finished the game already and it feels like I put in as much time as I could since launch to hit 65hrs

This game is just so good!

Edit: want to say sorry in advance, if I end up posting in this thread by myself.

I really pick a great part to stop because everything has been story beats and awesome anime in such a short time. And I’m just once again like

This last location I was on really just said, 65hrs, that’s only the tutorial/j! Because things just expanded further and more things need to be done. Edit:

I don’t know if it’s faster, but getting so many in such a short time will allow me to level up every archetype I have available quickly.

Yall, I played the demo for 11 hours! If I had known it wouldn’t let me complete the Cathedral dungeon, I could have had an extra day of free time as well.

My suggestion for seeing the most content in the demo is to: accept the side quest next to the main gate in the city, sightsee on the bench next to the igniter shop for the first afternoon, then help cook at the honeybee Inn the first night. Complete the side quest first thing on day 2, increasing your wisdom. This allows you to accept the side quest next to the igniter shop. I would then do that side quest/dungeon for the rest of day two. Then do the cathedral dungeon for all of day three.

Some talk I have seen online, have people talking about beating Metaphor in 60hrs. I’m currently at a 100hrs, doing what seems like a side quest for what’s likely an optional power.

Still haven’t activated all my archetypes and I’m just wondering if people have been skipping all the dialogue, or just speed reading everything.
