Marvel's Blade - Announcement Trailer

Very cool. I can’t wait to see what Arkane is cooking up. Also their first third person game, exciting indeed!

Seen silly people saying that it could always be a timed exclusive. I guess because the thought of Xbox securing a Marvel property is out of the question, lmao. They base it on what Phil said. But iirc he said legacy games and games that already are on other platforms. I don’t recall him saying unannounced games. Meh, it’s whatever.

More than a few people unironically believe that Sony has say in who Marvel/Disney works with. More than a few people don’t seem to know what “concept art” means either judging from many comments under that post. SMH.

Wasn’t the Bethesda leak from 2019/2020? If so, it’s mostly outdated and has probably changed a shit ton since then. As much as I want Dishonored 3, im very happy with Lyon doing Marvel’s BLADE. Now, if Austin can do Dishonored 3, well, even better for me!!! lol

Damn. Forgot to say what I originally wanted to say. lol

That concept art looks great and I can’t wait to see what Arkane Lyon does with Blade. Let’s go baby!!! :joy:

Oh I definitely hear him about the last part. Arkane and Xbox won’t be the problem. Is Disney/Marvel of today ok with some bloody ass violence? I hope they are.

They were fine with how bloody the Daredevil Netflix show was, so it should be fine.

They do have few rated R/MA materials next year, so you can say it’s a test to that claim.

Ah yes, Deadpool 3, right? And I am hoping Blade in 2025 too.

That and Echo TV series.

Oh, I’d need to look that up, never heard of that. Another test would be Wolverine the game, too.

What did you think of the third one?

Echo is based on a character from the Hawkeye season. Super happy to see e them exploring that, she was cool. Need to re-watch Hawkeye now, tis the season.

I liked it. I was expecting to dislike it after all I had read but I really enjoyed it. Definitely a good trilogy I’d say.

I saw there’s a live action show with rapper Sticky Fingaz too, so I’ll make sure to check that out as well. Right now I’m fully into the Tomb of Dracula comic which is going to introduce Blade very soon where I’m at now. Very cool stuff.

In several scenes in the three movies when I saw Snipes I thought…oh I can absolutely see Mahershala Ali as Blade. He is so freaking awesome in Luke Cage as Cottonmouth too.

Sounds good. Quite liked Hawkeye. Both Jeremy and Hailey are great.

I’m kinda speechless to see ppl are still questioning the exclusivity. And I believe nothing will convince some of u at the moment.

I think this is the power of licensed IPs if shown well. I can’t remember the last time there was this many positive vibes for an Xbox game. For other games I felt there was always some nitpicks or being overcritical, but Blade has just been a positive vibe tbh. I can’t wait

It’s kinda crazy how differently licenced IP’s , (particularly those based on films and comics etc )are looked at now compared to just a few gens ago. most of the time they were quick cash ins that weren’t very good. I think Buffy the Vampire Slayer ( by the people who would eventually become Double Helix) was really good. Then of course Riddick Escape from Butcher Bay.

Not to say there weren’t any good ones before then. Capcom made great fighters based on X-men and Marvel before the VS series as well as a good Xmen game. Sega put out two good X-men games too, but for every one of these there was some LJN made BS and Superman 64 tier crap. After a while gamers would roll their eyes at the thought of a licensed game.

Clowning over concept art is a new bs low for gamers. You just don’t where it stops.

And what’s also stupid, not as much, but also stupid, is drawing any conclusions about what a game 4+ years away might look like or its gore content… come on now.

Yes i got to work on a few. It was difficult since games were treated like the happy meal toy for a movie or show release. Which meant about a year of dev time (two if you were lucky) and terrible support from the licencse holder. It has changed to essentially buying the licencse (millions of dollars) and pitching to a publisher. Its probably a bit different now (probably more support from marvel and or whatever license holder)

I do to an extent. My thing is, since Arkham, licenced games haven’t introduced new innovations or set new standards, I can enjoy and like them alright it’s just not what excites me like it seems some people’s all gaming dreams are about making games of popular IP as if original game worlds and stories aren’t already amazing and immersive, like they need to adapt some superior material or whatever (which is superhero origin story for the #9983838393737383838th time)
