A new Marathon trailer briefly appeared on the Xbox Store, and it seems to confirm release date along with Deluxe Edition items for the game.
Over the past few weeks, interest in Bungie‘s upcoming extraction shooter, Marathon, has picked up again thanks to developer’s marketing push and a steady stream of new info.
That push started with Bungie’s Vision of Marathon ViDoc in December, which showed updated gameplay and highlighted changes since the closed alpha, including things like proximity chat and a solo queue. Then, earlier this month, Bungie followed up with a second long video focused on Runner Shells and how builds work through Cores and Implants.
The one thing Bungie still hadn’t pinned down publicly was the exact release date. The official work was that Marathon is coming sometime in March 2026.
Marathon Release Date and Trailer Leaked Earlier today, that “sometime in March” window may have just gotten a lot more specific. A new Marathon trailer went live early on the Xbox Store and was quickly taken down, but not before people were able to grab it.
According to the leaked info from the trailer, Marathon is releasing on Thursday, March 5, 2026. The trailer itself runs for about 1 minute and 50 seconds. It shows an updated look at gameplay, environments, and characters, along with some dialogue lines from an unknown character.
I wish the best of luck. I know co-exist does, well, exist, but Arc’s staying power has blew my expectation and perhaps many others. It’s still hitting close 400,000 almost daily basis. I don’t know if streamers are doing their damnest to damage that game with certain issue, but the player base is too strong.
Marathon needs not only a strong start but a strong staying power.
There’s not enough changes from last year’s showing, so I don’t see people changing their mind. Maybe if there’s positive chatter after release, but the artstyle is style very divisive and gameplay not really enticing from the look of it.
There’s a whole design and gameplay philosophy between Marathon and ARC Raiders it’s not fair, and the funny thing is that they are positionned at the same price point I think.
I like Marathon universe but they are kind of blowing it all up with this game. We probably have another Conchord on our hands and I sincerely hope I’m wrong. I still want to try it because it’s an FPS by Bungie!!
Just looked at some new footage and…I liked the older art style better. Yeah it was kinda weird and ugly but at least it felt unique. Now it looks like a slightly offbeat Apex.
