If it was JUST about making money then somehow it’d be more okay. Like it’s a cutthroat business and you can only thrive being heartless, fine. But it’s that it isn’t just about money for these people. They are genuine bad people with malicious, and disgusting, intent.
I think the general public and maybe even a lot of us in this space still see gaming as this hobby for kids and nerdy types. Even when we are dealing with the more toxic side of gaming we are thinking fanboys, incels, or just misguided people. I mean the signs were always there, but maybe I just didn’t want to believe I shared a hobby with people this evil. This is fictional/mythical level of vile inhuman filth just interacting with you on the forums and in games. It’s kinda bone chilling to think I may have interacted with this guy in someway.
