Any chance the next Xbox gets unveiled at the 2026 Game Awards?

Not getting my hopes up but I’d love for them to keep expanding/improving the backwards compatibility, it’s one of the best things about playing games on Xbox imo.
If they did i wonder what they’d show. The UI surely needs more time still and that user experience is the big story for the next console. I guess they could just have mock ups.
The next Xbox is likely two years away (Fall 2027). It is incredibly unlikely they would announce it now. Maybe at next years (or some other time next year).

Interesting. Not for a second do I believe in that rumor about late 2026 next Xbox, but it definitely sounds like they will talk about it.
I wasn’t as terminally online for any other generational change, but it still feels like they’re teasing out this transition more than usual. They’ve been openly talking about next Gen since last year and all of this year they’ve pushed hard about ecosystem changes and there was that whole “look back” interview talking about this gen being done. It starts to make me believe it’ll be some massive leap even if not necessarily in graphics or performance. It feels like something big is happening and they’re doing a lot to transition to it and make sure people are aware of it when it does drop.
