Nice! I just finished it too. Looking forward to a new event this week.
Selfishly wishing season 2 was here now lol
Iâm starting to feel that while the Campaign tried to do new things and shake up the formula bigly (the open world, soft reboot of the storyâŚ), the MP side played very safe. Too much.
Halo has such great enemies, vehicles and sandbox that itâs (imo) a wasted opportunity to not have some kind of big scale PvPvE mode.
Not necessarily Halo 5âs Warzone (it was frustrating sometimes with this 3-base system, like on that Stormbreaker map) but something else.
Like a 15v15 or 20v20 map on Zeta Halo with Forerunner structures, 1 or 2 Banished outposts and caves with Grunts, Elites, Brutes, Hunters, Phantoms etc⌠roaming on the map and attacking both teams. And Grappleshot by default (with cooldown).
Not a Battle Royale (I donât like it because I felt like I wasted my time once I died and canât respawn) but something new, shinny and ambitious built upon the strenghts of structure of Infiniteâs campaign and Haloâs sandbox and multiplayer. Like something even better than Battle Royale.
Large map with AI controlled Banished roaming the map + 15v15 or 20v20. Or even 3 teams competing against each other to reinforce unpredictability and tension + you gain points by eliminating Banished too and accomplishing objectives
Some caves
Forerunner structures (with Hunters, Brute hammer chieftains or Tremonius-like bosses guarding legendary loot)
Night variant + Banished outpost with AA guns (destroy these first to gain points, a AA Wraith or something)

I donât mind Forge and Firefight coming later and focusing on BTB but in this case (as someone who mainly play BTB), I would have expected more than 3 maps to be honest (and with more variety in the environments also)âŚ
Especially since heavy vehicles spawn so rarely (I probably saw like 2 or 3 tanks in total since I started to playâŚ) and there isnât much room to drive those.
Itâs fun but compared to the achievement of the campaign with Zeta Halo, MP starts to feel underwhelming.
That would be so good.
I just dont think they had the time and the plan was to ship something safe and good in that regard.
I think they were just worried about delivering a solid foundation to build off of. Rather then being ambitious with the MP from the jump. Itâs going to be a long process but such is the life with GAASâs.
Yes obviously.
Although I understand it took time for the campaign considering what they wanted to achieve compared to the classic Halo campaign formula + huge cuts and that they to ship it ultimately.
But the MP leaves me with questions. I donât see much the issues they could have faced during these years regarding maps, modes and progression (Forge aside). Maybe because of the engine (it wasnât ready when the game moved into full production according to Bonnie Ross). It feels to me that they had less time to develop the MP than the Campaign actually. I think I donât have any complaint regarding the Campaign.
Or unless theyâre working on something we arenât aware.
I remember Phil said in August 2020 there was debate about breaking Infinite into sections and releasing individual sections at different dates (MP first I guess). So I wonder what it would have been if they did indeed released MP one year ago.
100%. I think this is the most dissapointing part of the multiplayer at the moment.
This games campaign was fun but Iâm still of the opinion that halo 5 has far superior gameplay especially in multiplayer.
If halo 5 came to PC I think it would overtake infinite in player count and thatâs why they arenât releasing it natively on PC with matchmaking (yes Iâm aware forge exists).
343 needs to add more maps asap. They canât wait until MayâŚ
Some weird decisions sometimes lol. Why would you put that low-res picture of the canyon (it doesnât even looks good and itâs a boring shot) instead of cool artworks made by some of your artists ?
Man I hope they got a firefight or any other PvE mode in the works. I think that would fit this game very well and would be very popular
What I want the most is a big mode, like Battlefield big. Big maps, lots of vehicle action⌠Banished everywhere and lots of players.
Sounds gooooood
A trend that I donât like in modern games : no soundtrack at all during Multiplayer. Feels so lifeless and silent sometimes. And boring. Thatâs like playing Halo Infiniteâs campaign without any music.
I remember that old games like Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Quake, Metroid Prime 2 Echoes MP, etc⌠all had (epic) soundtracks playing during multiplayer games and it was great. You could even make your own playlist in Perfect Dark by selecting specific tracks. Or even these epic End-of-Round themes in BF1 and BFV.
Like, for people who arenât in a party, I would love the option to have Halo Infiniteâs combat tracks from the Campaign to play during Arena and BTB.
BTB + Heavy Artillery from Gareth Coker or Sequence from Corelitz would completely change and improve the atmosphere a lot.

I feel this especially when I used to play Battlefront 2. Star Wars has so many tracks and the music rarely played.
i love Palace arrival and A message man this soundtrack is God Tier
Fortunately they added soundtracks iirc. At least in Heroes vs Villains (the mode I always play), they added the option to have it (constant music). Makes Palpatine vs Yoda instantly more epic.
also the game is broken at the moment been for months and is just now being talked about
Respect!
