Okay one more Expanse related post here.
I saw a lot of people mad at the cat ears on Spartans and claimed that it has no place in Halo. But I think they can be explained from a practical perspective. They could be where helmet lights are located. They could be oversized for more powerful lights in various circumstances. In fact it would be cool if a future campaign featured them on some Spartan, lighting up long ranges and distances on the Halo ring (which I wish was a little bit darker at night, though I think the current brightness/darkness at night is scientifically accurate).
Note the lights on Drummer’s helmet. They sort of look like bear ears. But they are actually a practical accessory.
For as much i’m critical of 343i, I got credit them for the good and fast response they have with the community, unlike another game and studio…
Vanguard keeps going into new trouble, at least according to one user who ended up playing Fortnite because of lackluster support. That’s pretty bad. Battlefield 2042 is basically “Come on. Do something” at this point. I know we can be critical for some of the problems, but the fact we got any response is already a miracle on its own. We also should adapt that this is the new approach and not how they left us in the dark after last update for Halo 5. If MCC doesn’t show you their supportive act, this will and I’m all in to support them.
I finally finished the Halo Infinite campaign on Heroic this week, as I had been so pulled into the multiplayer that I kept getting distracted from it Man, it definitely ended up as my GOTY! I really loved the campaign, and as many of the reviews pointed out the way that they managed to pull off that Halo encounter feeling when coming across those side areas in the “open world” was something special. I really liked the story a lot too, and I am very excited about what looks to be clear campaign DLC that will be coming at some point after watching the post credits scene.
The grappling hook was a true game changer in everything for me. I loved just traversing the world with it, especially after getting the shorter cooldown upgrade. But it really changed how I encountered many of the challenging fights on Heroic, including boss fights. I ended up pretty much relying on my grapple to quickly swing around corners and get away quickly when necessary to regroup and come at my enemies again, which was just an amazing change up for gameplay here.
I am pretty much hooked on the multiplayer now, which is so much fun for me even though I am pretty much average/maybe a little above average with it. I get enough kills and feel like I am impacting in a positive way often enough to keep coming back. I have been having fun going through the battle pass and special events (the Cyber event next week looks cool), and they will probably end up getting some of my money from the store with the changes that are also coming starting next week.
This is almost certainly still the game that I will end up putting the most total hours of gameplay into this year.
Infinite MP is really good and fun. but the whole experience is ruined when you face PC player and you are on console/cloud. bizarre that no one from MS and 343 so far is talking about this…
Weapon Specific challenges are bullshit when they don’t actually track kills with the weapons.
Why is it ruined? Obviously cheaters but otherwise?
Of course, most of the time i have a lot of fun with Infinite MP. but the mandatory crossplay with the PC you are always suspicious of the other players. it’s not just the cheats but the advantage that the keyboard and mouse have over the controller.
Very strong “Halo 6” (or direct sequel to Halo 5) vibes. I love Halo Infinite but part of me wonders what Halo 6 would have been if Halo 5’s story had been better received.
Hoping that a book or comic will fills the gap between 5 and Infinite and reuse some of the work that was done for “Halo 6”.
They could easily do a DLC filling the gab between 5 and Infinite. You could play as fireteam Osiris and go back to Reach to get the weapon. A lot of potential
Finally finished my battle pass, so now I can finish the campaign. I think I am almost done it based on mission list I looked at.
I wonder if they’ll refund any points spend on older store content, but ah well if the don’t since I like the iron man colour palette and cat ears.
All of this is still possible for future SP content, especially that desert-like setting seen in the last image.
I have A Team Slayer challenge but the team slayer matches Ive played on quick play dont count.
Thanks 343
Really this is easy stuff to catch and its still makes it live.
Are the stats available anywhere for our overall average and k/d per mode
I assume that it is setup based on playlist than game type.
Definitely not ideal, but semi understandable with them doing these changes quickly and within the systems that are implemented.
But quick play counts for some challenges and team slayer is there. Makes no sense.
This is awesome, thank you!!
