Anyone know if there’s a limit to this? Someone said that 10 matches IE 1000 Spartan points is the max per day but I wasn’t able to try it out because the servers were down yesterday.

If anyone knows please let me know. Because I thought of a way to farm it really quickly if there is no limit. Even if there’s a limit of 1000, There’s conceivably an easy way to get that thousand in less than 5 minutes. You would need a squad of 4 to make it happen.

So, I understand that Halo Infinite is crossgen, so people on Xbox 1 take longer to load in. But I don’t know why it takes less time to load into a match of Halo 5? Is it because Halo 5 is last gen only? Better optimization? Everyone playing Halo 5 is on Series consoles?

Because sometimes being stuck in the map as we get shots of it as we wait for it to load for 3 minutes seems unnecessarily long.

All I have are guesses and they pretty much line up with yours.

I do think the live service nature of the game does affect memory allocation and how things are loaded. So in a game like Halo 5 where there is pretty much a limited set of weapon skins and armour customizations, there can be some optimizations for loading. In infinite you have even more things to customize so your memory allocation is reduced for other things like the level itself and increased for player and weapon skins for 24 players. And since those customizations grow weekly it’s a bit tougher to optimize their loading. Load times can be fast and optimized for large contiguous chunks of data like maps and in Infinite I’m sure the map memory allocation is smaller because it’s loading all these other skins and models. I’m oversimplifying things a little bit because there’s a lot of streaming, and stuff loaded in on-demand, especially when you’re dealing with 24 players with their own unique skins, weapon skins, kill effects, armor customizations, Spartan voices, AI models, and weapons charms.

But if there was any guess that I could add to yours it would be this.

The player count would understandable if I was playing BTB(I generally don’t, I prefer arena) but going into arena and having it hang for so long is so noticeable. Which kind of makes it worse, because while I don’t play BTB often, I haven’t gotten that delay on the map in BTB at all.

Are some maps worse than others? Wondering whether Forge created maps could be less efficient.

It can be pretty random, sometimes a map that took too long to load would load quickly, other times I’m just stuck at 99% load time of the map in the lobby. I think I remember experiencing it on launch maps as well.

It was nice to see the map at least.

VIPs really fun, eh? Between this and Match Composer, its been really fun breaking out of my Husky Raid and Firefight routine

Personally I really miss Sentry Defense and Husky Raid especially with the Spartan points promotion. I figured I’d be playing a bit of that. Turns out that I don’t have enough time to play anyways so it’s a blessing in disguise.

But VIP is really good.

The dedicated server issue coming up was something that I thought was only affecting me because apparently it’s widespread.

Oh, are there long queue times for those now? I dont have an issue with Husky Raid queues personally

Sounds like a general problem with their servers according to Mint Blitz.

It worked fine before this update.

Oh okay, I havent noticed any new glitches but Im no expert. Thx!

Tried out the new Vip mode, and while fun I have issues with it. Vip selection takes way too long, which on a 9 to 9 game favors the team whose Vip died last.

I don’t care for the Vip having more health than everyone else, as I thought this game type was to encourage sticking together. But with the Vip having more health than everyone else it’s pretty much just a help them if they need it situation.

The only weapon that ignores the extra health seems to be the needler, as that’s still one super combined explosion kill. Maybe the sniper, but I can’t say as I haven’t been headshotted yet and haven’t noticed if anyone has during any games.

Been playing the new game playlist and it’s pretty fun, for me mainly because it’s FFA. The skulls collection and delivery part isn’t really my thing, but it does make the winner of the match pretty random.

As most times it doesn’t matter how many kills you get, as the person with the least kills has as much of a chance to win as the one with the most.

Agreed on all fronts. Not my thing but I’m happy they’re always changing things up every week.

Though I am surprised that Husky Raid and Sentry Defense aren’t back again.

It’s really too bad that there isn’t the population to do this but it would be cool to have all modes available categorized under BTB/Squad, Ranked, Party, and Singles and Doubles.

I don’t know about Sentry, but Husky is part of the quick play option. I tend to get it when playing the list because I got rid of all objective game types.

Just got a new notification for the champions update on HI, and someone at 343 is a troll, as they used the Achilles helmet from Halo 5 as the thumb nail.

That actually got me to click the same day it came up!

Edit: wanted to add, that the helmet will be available on HI, since I noticed my post didn’t make that clear.

I’m still waiting for the Ai to use vehicles in firefight… I don’t think any more sandbox editions or dev maps are coming that’s fine… I’ve come to terms with it… But at least give me this

They could always do what they did with Halo 5 and spawn them on vehicles for later waves, this way we get more variety on the encounters.
