I feel like a lot of what you are referring to here is driven by physics and animation. Would surely be improved if a developer put the time and resources into it.
Gotta keep in mind that when you limit the focus to FPS you’re dealing with a fair amount of lower budget/AA games.
This is the third game, and it still plays like crap. I would think they should be used to the engine by now. Anyway, this is the fear many have cos the game looks really good in videos. Also, I don’t think it’s physics and animation it’s just not immersive. When I press a button in Titanfall 2 and Halo infinite I feel like I’m actually holding and shooting, the immersion is just spot on. While unreal games just seem to be missing that feel mostly in FPS. Like I couldn’t really get into GEARS 4 and 5 cos I struggled with the gameplay though I will say Hive Busters did feel good. I really hope UE 5 is solid.
What is it that you think makes it immersive? I would assume it is a weight to the movements and the reaction of things on the receiving end of that movement, which I would think are dictated by animation and physics.
Holy molly at all the leaks. The amount of content in this game will be astounding eventually. I wonder if they make marketing push at some point to relaunch the game and attract more people that way.
I think what Halo Infinite needs isn’t contents in the form of more maps and so on. It needs a casual easy to follow mode. Something anyone watching for the first time can get. I think this is why battle royals have been popular.
I’m not a betting man but the safe bet a person could make is that we’re going to see a YouTube video in the near future that is titled, “ENEMY AI IN FORGE DELAYED. 343 CONTINUES TO DISAPPOINT” when it isn’t in Season 3.
OTOH, 343i did terrible job detailing the future of Halo Infinite after the recent round of layoffs, so this leak did a lot to assuage the fear that it was going to be abandoned.
The best thing 343i can do is - after the launch of Season 3 - give us the roadmap for the next season or two… They got a ton of flack when they did it the last time around, but now that the game is in a much better place and the next season only 3.5 months away (and not over 6 lol), it would be received much better.
People who were going to make bad faith arguments were always to do so.
