I think if Halo had more content it could have such numbers on a regular basis.
It doesnāt mean it will never get there again.
Iām hopeful this current roadmap marks an end of this particular problem, if they can get Forge out and the infrastructure to properly support it (fileshare, custom games lobby, forge matchmaking playlists) and start delivering 3 month seasons like season 3 is currently scheduled to be I think the game is going to be doing a LOT better on delivering enough content to keep people playing the game.
Nah, this the biggest tourney to date for Halo Infinite. Even with content galore, it wouldnāt do these numbers on a regular day.
HI just isnāt a fun viewing experience if it isnāt in a competitive setting with callers calling the game, etc etc.
If it made such numbers on a regular basis, the tournament would have much bigger numbers.
I mean LoL and Overwatch are getting such numbers on a regular basis and reaching 700k from time to time too.
Thatās where forge comes in imo, Forge will allow for much more enjoyable gameplay for people that arenāt into tournaments because of all the game types that people will be able to play.
A lot of streaming numbers depend on whether popular streamers want to play and stream the game consistently
Forge is a possibility but weāll see.
Popular streamers go where the money is, I just donāt think thereās an interest there for arena console shooters.
Even the mainline COD games struggle to make some noise on Twitch.
And that shows you that Twitch is not an accurate/foolproof metric to judge if a game is dead or not.
COD Warzone itself does not have that many viewers on Twitch, yet we know it continues to be amongst the most played games right now.
Yeah, Twitch only amplifies whatās already there, itās not the end all be all.
Some games just donāt mesh well with streaming to a live audience.
I just checked the numbers now out of curiosity and youāre bang on.
Iām wondering what you all thought about the potential of Forge helping in this space.
Iām an out of touch Boomer that might be oversimplifying things but I get the feeling that the creativity and near endless amount of content will help both streamers have something new to do everyday and grab an audience looking for something new and fun.
I think Forge could lead to more, even if slightly, Twitch viewership due to what you mentioned. A streamer may want to create something new on Forge and get the viewers to give feedback on what to create.
I would guess that any game that allows for user generated content may lend itself well to Twitch streaming (like Grounded due to base building).

Halo infinite gameplay is addictive. So easy just to load up a casual game and have fun. Looking forward to forge and eventually a custom games browser.
Hope they rework the menu and UI to be more in line with the MCC. Switched from Overwatch to Halo and it really strikes me how bland it is (the font, the lack of colors and overuse of white and grey, the menu never changes when there is a new event, the background are static and nothing specialā¦).
