Halo |OT2| Forging Ahead

Allowing people to develop their own bases with various objectives for players to challenge seems like a no brainer with what they’ve built into Forge. Would take some time, but hope it’s in the plans.

I agree on all points.

The ranking system is basic and boring. Basically the same ranking system from reach and halo 5. And you can’t even see other people’s rank unless you click on their name. Shouldn’t have to go out of your way to see other’s rank.

Battle royale is coming though. Hopefully It’s good.

Wild to me that their roadmap didn’t have anything on service records or any way of tracking stats in game.

Going all the way back to halo 3 there where some career stat tracking in game. Getting more in-depth as each game has come out. Now though there’s nothing and we haven’t heard anything about it coming.

Tracking kills, wins, past season ranks, k/d that should all be in the game. Dare I say it’s about time a leaderboards was in halo.

Hey all, I’m going to be streaming some halo tonight, will be playing the new event. It’s btb, so anyone is welcome to join. Can consider it an impromptu community night lol.

Going to be going live at 8:15 pm, so an hour and fifteen minutes from now.

Feel free to join my party at 8 10 or so, or send me a message on Xbox.

Sorry for the late ask, but hope to see a few of you there!

Main thing that stopped me from continuing to play halo is the servers. I always felt like I am lagging or my shots dont register properly (I am in Aus playing on PC).

The other thing is that the challenge progression system didnt do much for me. I think I am too used to gaining levels, badges, prestige etc from the last decade.

I’m enjoying jumping back in for the Yappening playlist so far…lots of fun.

if anyone wants a new Halo friend, please add me: Junglee91

I play sporadically

This is the one thing I can agree with the outrage mob on… That Halo excels as a social and casual shooter. That’s not to say there isnt space for a competitive scene and ranked playlists, but these silly game-modes just work so well for the game and sandbox.

Disagree hard. 343 should go radio silent, turn off pts and just release things when it’s ready

Communication is just a rod for their own back because no amount of communication will outweigh the absolute murdochian levels of outrage bait that follows this studio around, propagated a lot by gaming twitter and mainstream media

Shit if I worked there and had this noise around me I’d quit too

So the people who are still interested in the game have to take the punishment for those who aren’t ?

Leaderboards were in Halo 2. Bungie removed them after cheaters figured out how to cheat and populate the entirety of them.

There’s unofficial leaderboards at Halotracker / Halocharts over the years, and most of them were dominated either by cheaters or people intentionally grinding that leaderboard out, like the guy that would spawncamp with a Banshee in Invasion so he could be at the top of the banshee kill leaderboards.

343 needs to fix matchmaking. I’m having half of the time errors about dedicated servers or something. It’s the only game I have issues.

I was having a very smooth experience last week when I was NOT playing any BTB playlists. This week with The Yappening everything is BTB and I’ve been getting those sporadic issues too. I’m convinced it’s because of the larger player counts involved, 12+12 instead of 4+4. I need more time to see if that’s entirely accurate, might just be happenstance.

That’s true. I wonder if a middle ground could be more of a 1 way communication where 343 is trying to make this a bit of a 2 way conversation by acknowledging fans.

This might sound harsh but maybe they have to stop that. No more “we hear you” and more “we’re currently working on releasing Forge, here’s what you can expect” and disregard the feedback from their communications but acknowledge it internally.

I still think they could have squashed a lot of negativity with a look into Forge and stressing that they need to get it right. What benefits it offers (infinite maps, modes, weapons, equipment) and I truly think the negative reactions would have been greatly reduced.

A little bit of sugar to help the medicine go down was all they needed and all they offered was a mention and some Forge biomes.
