People who are big Halo fans have their own evaluative metrics and that will cause many to be upset about X, Y, and Z, but speaking as a casual Halo fan, having played just a little while, and thinking about people who are playing their first Halo game coming in with no preconceived notions It’s tough to see how newcomers to the franchise won’t be blown away by the campaign.

I’m very impressed and I’ve been a Halo fan for over a decade, it may sound crazy but I’m getting the same vibes I got when I first played Halo 2 after finishing Halo CE, I was so impressed, I think I was 15 or 16 at the time, holy shit it feels good to get those feels again, only Halo can do that for me.

I wasn’t sure I was going to like the open world “activities” but after taking over the fuel depot, rescuing a few sets of marines and taking out the energy sword dude for the headhunter quest while also just mucking around and discovering random stuff, I’m in love. I could do this shit all day, everyday.

Yep, I was planning on having it out by today but writing it is taking longer than expected.
I find myself going really in depth in some parts and then deleting it after reading over. This has happened a few times already lol.
Will spend a couple hours tomorrow on just the review. Will have it done and ready in a few days hopefully.

Played for approximately 4 hours. Completed the first three story missions and up to where the FOB’s go on your map for the first region. Game is excellent thus far. Combat/gameplay is excellent. Changed the buttons slightly. Flipped LB and RB as I prefer RB to throw grenades and LB for equipment which in this case is the Grapple Shot.
Music, sound and voice acting all top notch thus far. I left the title screen on for like 5 minutes just to listen to the music. lol. Story and characters thus far have me invested and interested. I hate documents and notes for giving you story info but audio logs I can accept since im listening to them as opposed to reading them.
Visually, game looks excellent. It’s either 9/10 or 10/10 depending on how the entire game plays out. For my very first Halo game, im impressed. Enjoying it a lot. Will play 6+ hours tomorrow before The Game Awards as im off the next two days.
