That’s how you make an April fool’s joke
I prefer centered crosshair for all Halo games. Yeah, I said it.
Has anyone seen the flighting redit leak? Looks real to me.
What are your thoughts on equipment having one use only? For overpowered equipment like the barrier it totally makes sense. But for something like the grapple it bums me out a bit. I wish that would have a 30 second cool down or something. Or is it going to be more OP than I’m thinking.
Haven’t read that, but did see some saying they weren’t sure it was legit.
As to the equipment use, I do think 343 said something to that effect with multiplayer equipment. And having watched some pro Halo games, I do think single use is probably the best bet. Things that enhance map traversal for a single person are probably going to be a lot more useful than we’re thinking. And the grapple also has been shown to have the ability to use for a maneuver like grabbing explosives to throw. It also encourages having to fight for control of equipment spawn locations, even for things like a grapple.
And also, if they do find out that it’s not as much of a power item in multiplayer as they thought, they could look at 2 uses for grapple / other items using a cool down like you said. I’m sure that’s something they probably want to test their assumptions on when they’re doing the flights.
Also, just amused at AC Valhalla’s Flyting vs software testing Flighting
They already confirmed multi use equipment in single player and custom games in mp.
I’m talking about multiplayer matchmaking which this flighting would probably be replicating.
But since it’s already set up to be used multiple times. If they decide they want some of the abilities to have a cool down it should be easy to implement.
Does anyone have questions for the podcast? We are recording very soon if anyone has one!
I have one for the podcast.
When I read about Halo Infinite, I personally don’t see much mention about Firefight. My question therefore is do you think it will be in the game, and if so what changes/improvements would you like to see?
As always, keep up the great work .
We are going live soon. Pop a question in here or on YouTube and we will do our best to answer it near the end of the show.
How do you guys feel about adding some light RTS gameplay to the campaign? With what’s been said and seen of the campaign, it seems like there will be a bit of finding missing personnel and lost assets. I would love to be able to have a hand in how those assets are then deployed on the battlefield before a mission. Not every mission, but maybe for those “Raids” they’ve mentioned? And strictly for the planning phase. As much as I love Brutal Legend, the RTS part was messy and slowed down the gameplay. Is this a bridge too far, or can Halo benefit from giving the player this much control over how a combat scenario plays out?
Edit: I guess I could have worded my question better (And not use the word RTS). I meant letting you choose to start a mission with AI teammates and choosing what type of unit (Hogs, ground troops, air support, etc.). That’s what i meant by planning phase. Kind of like MGSV. Still, thanks for taking the time to answer. I’ll try and be less wordy next time.
It sounds like somewhere right around the 23:30 mark, Kyle Fraser says the pug recordings are being used for a “digger creature” unless I misheard. Wonder what that is…
Ah, missed that, but yes, he definitely said that. If I had to guess, it’s probably part of the wildlife on the Halo ring, so maybe like a mole or something similar to that.
Yeah, that’s what I’m thinking it is too. (wildlife)
If anyone is up to par with the books, can please remind me where was located the tomb of Mendicant Bias? It was in the lessek Ark, right? I always thought that it was the only character with the knowledge to wipe out the flood.
I hope 343 will connect its storyline if the flood will be reintroduced in Infinite.
For a while mendicant bias was house on zeta halo that was before he was punished for betraying the forerunners and was imprisoned on the ark he’s the reason why chief and cortana ended up on requiem in 4 he believed himself to be at the end of its life when installation 08 was fired in 3 I believe his zeta halo housing is still there but I don’t think any part of him is still there but I could be wrong
In this day and age big multiplayer games kind of needs game mode that are popular with streamers and their audiences. That’s what battle royale is. Other examples are escape from tarkov, sea of thieves multiplayer. Normal 4v4 or 2v2 arena multiplayer doesn’t tend to be nearly as popular with streaming. I really hope infinites big multiplayer mode scratches this itch with more originality than battle royale. I loved battle royale but I’m now burnt out on it.
I suppose it could be a combination of this rumored ‘bigger team battle’ and forge. Have maps big enough to support 50 plus players in halo will be pretty sick. I thought warzone in guardians was a good first effort. But ultimately it didn’t hit the spot. Maybe instead of 24 v 24 or 48 vs 48. it could be 10 teams of 4 with squad spawning. Ai on the map. Get points for killing ai, other players, and completing objectives, maybe a multiplier on ur points earned when you are not dieing. This is just an idea, but I think something like that could be pretty popular. I don’t think something like 24v24 death match will work in halo. This isn’t Battlefield. Individual players should matter. In 24v24 I could go 30kills-0 deaths and still not effect the outcome of the match. To me that isn’t what halos about.
I also think forge needs to be more than a map creator(though it needs to do this really well). I think it needs to be a game mode creator and it needs forgeable AI. Imagine being able to place covenant, brutes, and flood around the map. Making objectives and patrol patterns for the AI.
It’s not really even just about streaming. It’s about longevity. I’m a huge halo fan. Since halo 2 came out when each game releases I’ve always played non stop for 1-2 years. Then once in a while for a year or 2 till the next one comes out. But if infinite is supposed to be a 10 year game than they can’t be expecting people to play 4v4, firefight and BTB for 10 years. They have something more planned and I can’t wait until we see it.
The weapon sandbox changes required to make Battle Royale work would make it not really feel like Halo at all anymore. They’d have to do stuff like push the BR out to a 6sk head / 8sk body just to keep teamshot from instantly killing everyone that congregates near other. At that point you’re playing Agent Under Fire with a Halo skin.
I also think forge needs to be more than a map creator(though it needs to do this really well). I think it needs to be a game mode creator and it needs forgeable AI. Imagine being able to place covenant, brutes, and flood around the map. Making objectives and patrol patterns for the AI.
While I would like Forge AI, the big thing that prevents it is making the AI navmesh and a whole host of other reasons.
I think it needs to be a game mode creator
I think we’d be better served with a Lua script editor and calling it a day. Bungie had plans back in Reach to give us all Megalo, but it was kiboshed. But we don’t need Megalo when the Lua runtime can be feasible now. I absolutely despise the way ‘scripting’ works in Halo 5, it’s one of the things that demonstrates that you can’t make EVERYTHING work via the Forge interface.
I understand where you are coming from about forge. But 343 has teased that they are going big. Let’s see how big.
I agree about battle royale. To make that work they would have to change the gameplay. Like you said the guns. They would also have to be changed dramatically. They would need to make it more about survival. I dare say doing it as a Spartan just wouldn’t work nor make sense. Think it would basically have to be it’s own multiplayer where you play as a ODST or something.
This is why(and because I want originality) I think they should go another route for their ‘big player count’ mode. But I also don’t think they should go the battlefield route and make 32vs32 slayer, bomb and flag. I don’t think that works well for halo.
Halo 5 warzone had issues and chief among them IMO was that it was too casual. Far more casual than BTB. I’m pretty good at halo5 (always onyx) and despite playing top 3 in the game 95% of the time I only win 48% of my matches. I’m playing the objective but i solo warzone and go up against a cordinated team a lot.
I do think that for a majority of halo fans that mode was a pretty MEH, and I loved the competitive. Bungie used to say going above 8v8 doesn’t work for halo, and I believe that to an extent. I think teams larger than 8 for the series will never work for the series. I would love to be proved wrong on that. I think 10 teams of 4 or 20 teams of 2 could work O a big map.
I would be curious to think what other people here think. What kind of mode could work for a large player base halo infinite mode.
