Halo |OT| Master Chief's Breath of the Wild Moment (Part 1)

I already see the sad console warriors are at it with the picture by Xbox from Craig and the new brute. I won’t deny I have my doubts that this is the actual in-game character model, just like that other brute that some thought was realtime but 343 said it wasn’t. But now these warriors are comparing it to a poorly lit brute, just like how you can find a unflattering image of any Sony exclusive too, lighting sometimes works that way.

That being said, maybe Xbox shouldn’t make such a tweet. We didn’t see the brute looking that extremely good in the trailer.

They will console war about anything they are man children that don’t know don’t to grow up

The fact that we keep getting gameplay and screenshots of the same area from different angles makes me think there are more biomes and spoiler-type stuff outside of this area.

It’s very sad, instead of just playing a game, enjoying this amazing hobby they go do this nonsense, lol.

That would be awesome. They haven’t said anything about these in past blogs?

No they haven’t. The way the map works almost makes it seem like we will be working our way around the ring.

Like you start at one end where the ring break is and have to work your way around to the other end.

The green line is the width of the ring and I reckon we will be tracking around the whole length of the ring which will SURELY have different biomes.

The purpose of the ring itself is having different biomes to sustain different forms of life.

I understand that’s the lore reasoning but you would’ve thought we would’ve seen it by now

I think the game can become more streamlined after the initial open world section, then we’ll see different biomes. I doubt there will be a desert or a frozen open world area for example.

I think i figured out what they meant with Infinite being a 10 years-supported game. Making Zeta Halo to be fully explorable. So let’s say… on launch game you can explore the 20-30% part of the world with 1-3 biomes (campaign-wise), while 343 planning to release new DLC every year at minimum which includes a brand new area of Zeta. Multiplayer-wise this also possibly mean new maps/stuff from the campaign DLC.

I think they will save different biomes and elements for later campaigns to be added to Halo Infinite.

2022: Atriox arrives to Zeta Halo

2023: The Flood are woken up (and they can add a new mechanic of “infecting different parts of the map)

2024: The Arbiter arrives and he needs help with a mission

Etc. Etc.

They do it for the lulz marketing, they know it will make engagement while idiots keep spamming around until they talk its halo, and now people will notice and see if its true only to realize it has been fixed and likely the only great FPS for the year and… “with 10 bucks you can also subscribe for a month of GamePass to play it alongside hundreds of titles, Halo Infinite’s MP is free to play”.

Thank you Anti Xbox fans. You’ve made MS invest in buying loads of studios and helped to make Halo look awesome

Playing Biomutant now and man…I’m a sucker for pretty, deep colours in nature areas in games and how lively it all looks. I remember the 2018 trailer for Halo having deeper colours too, but they went with a more realistic tone. And also the foliage man, it all moves in this game, and when you walk through it as well. I don’t know, just helps a lot making that world feel alive. It’s also gigantic, open world and 60fps.

The big difference is probably that Halo has physics systems for the characters, vehicles, much more enemies on the map. And apparently foliage does move in Halo,it’s just very hard to see and I wish the devs cranked that up just a little. Ah well.

Objection!

Lol give me some captions for this, y’all!

On biome diversity found this ‘Ask 343i’ video with a question on it.

To me, the answer is a very long way of saying ‘its just PNW, but it’s not all exactly identical’.

Transcription below.

“Our next question from the community is: I know that exploration is a major focus of infinite but what I’m curious about is biomes, what sort of environments if any, can we expect on Zeta Halo aside from the Pacific Northwest inspired landscapes we’ve seen so far?”

"Yeah. Another great question. So like I said in the blog, we really focused on the legacy aspect of the game for the visuals. So Pacific Northwest is our main biome and that was by choice. We got really excited about it, we wanted to do it right. And so within that biome, you actually find diversity within sub-biomes.

So we have some high altitude palettes, we have some more wetland palettes, more swampy wetlands. We also have some war-torn areas – we refer to those as the deadlands where you can really see some storytelling going on with the with the biome itself and maybe what happened on the ring.

Along with our biomes, we have a lot of other palettes, right? We have the hexagons themselves, they lead to some really interesting kind of visual and gameplay situations of having, you know, a cavern made out of hexagons. Speaking of caves, we actually have cave systems in the game as well. So you can go exploring in some really dark kind of moody areas and you can discover things.

We have the forerunner architecture. You go inside the forerunner architecture with that classic palette and then the banished architecture, which bring this like plethora of really interesting architecture and buildings and fortifications. And so when you put all these things together, it adds a lot of variety in a very natural way.

So it doesn’t feel like you’re a Disneyland where you’re, you know, you’re running around and you’re seeing these very intricate new biomes that don’t really mesh well together. So we really focused on getting that Pacific Northwest biome and then having these sub-biomes within it. So it all feels like one believable place for the player to kind of engage with."

“So like a diversification of that Pacific Northwest biome, but there’s a lot of variety within within it?”

“Yes, but it is all kind of contained in that Pacific Northwest theme for the most part.”

“Awesome. Thank for that answer.”
