Halo |OT| Master Chief's Breath of the Wild Moment (Part 1)

That was absolutely amazing. They looked like they’ve killed it. Love the RPG lite, love the mini-boss bits. Love the new enemies and MY GOD i love the freedom. This is actually perfect.

I generally expect that level of detail more from games that are dedicated single-player games. I wasn’t expecting biomes to be reactionary especially on a game that still has to be tethered to the previous generation and jaguar CPU cores. They hit all the bullet points I think they needed to cover before launch.

If the main issue you have is with how the nature biomes react to the user they are doing pretty good in comparison to where they were last year.

Indeed.

Perhaps a point for the ditch the Xbox One-team though.

for the most part they seem to be. if you look at the new games they have announced this year none of them mention xbox one. Even starfield to my knowledge never mentions xbox one.

Going into this generation phil and team really only committed to the first year for cross gen games. So it looks Horizon 5 and halo Infinite are the swan songs to xb1 platform.

After that very first trailer, the engine trailer it’s disappointing that foliage is so static, doesn’t seem to move at all. And I could swear it was fully swaying in that trailer.

I don’t really understand why this is when we have tons of games today that have it, even indie games really. Swaying foliage is something we even had in Xbox and 360 games.

Oh yes, that is definitely the case. Halo Infinite is an unfortunate cross-gen victim in that regard (it is a 2020 game after all). However I think as it is a platform it will only get better and eventually the support for old ass hardware will be dropped.

That is exactly what they clarified almost two years ago and got attacked for by the media lol. 2022’s lineup is XSX/S/PC only.

The best part about this trailer is that they pulled everything from the introductory chapters of the game. All of the footage seems to take place in the same area we’ve been seeing since the June reveal. I feel like they’re holding a bunch of stuff back to maintain that Halo CE mystery element they said they wanted to capture.

The second picture is CGI dude

I’m not gonna talk about anything of the campaign leaks, but i can guarantee you, you saw things that happen in the second half of the game

The in-engine trailer shows what is possible with the engine. But in development, some sacrifices always have to be made. Only the team could speak to why trade-offs were made. What didn’t make the cut and why. It also could have been one of those things that wasn’t ready but not worth delaying the game over.

Im just happy after the trailer was shown most of hte feedback has just been nits that people are picking.

I’m not so sure we’re getting much variety in biomes at launch.

Overall there’s a lot to be happy about, that’s for sure. But I’m a graphics whore, I won’t deny that and things like FH5 make me very happy because it looks so freaking good, I just wish that for something like Halo too. But those interiors DO look very impressive.

Earlier this year here on the forum someone said they’ve only shown one biome so far. I immediately took that as there are more in the final game, but now it seems those could be later additions?

This is just my guess, but I think they may have exaggerated.

halo being a long-term project. I expect the next story installment to probably be graphically more up your alley.

The game look is solid, now we only need some bombastic cinematic trailer during the anniversary event and we are good.

Do you mean a completely new game with that? Like a spin-off? Because I think in terms of mainline Halo this is it for ten years, right? If that’s still the plan.

Or did you mean the future updates for Infinite?

The game will be continuously upgraded and support for Xbox One will drop at some point.
