Halo |OT| Master Chief's Breath of the Wild Moment (Part 1)

Wasn’t Infinite Forges a part of the early interviews that Xboxera did?

Infinite Forges has done an amazing job with this tbh

could you be referring to Forgelabs?

As Nick would say, “I am getting old, folks. I have to store stuff on Onenote.”

Bro when that “glue music” hits at 1:34 :fire:

This is so goddamn good, I hope the campaign exudes this kinda atmosphere and feeling. I really hope there are stretches of gameplay where there are no enemies and it’s just you and the ring.

I said this a while ago, but I thought they’d make Battle Pass free for ultimate members

aint no way.

Ya I think they should have made the battlepass free for ultimate members, or at least the second newest one free. So when season 2 comes out give season 1 to the ultimate subs.

I feel like gifting a few cosmetics to subs is a half measure.

There might actually be a serious chance of xCloud coming to Switch! Just hear me out.

Several insiders suggested back in 2019 that Halo games (or MCC) would be coming to the Switch (along with other Xbox “exclusives”), alongside Game Pass/xCloud on Switch, after Nintendo and Microsoft supposedly entered a partnership of sorts.

These things have happened in that “partnership” ever since:

  • Banjo & Kazooie and Steve (from Minecraft) in Smash Bros Ultimate
  • Xbox exclusives Ori and the Blind Forest, Cuphead and New Super Lucky’s Tale on Switch
  • Banjo-Kazooie game being added to Nintendo 64 Online subscription (for Switch) (with rumors of Killer Instinct also coming)

Seems extremely one-sided, if you ask me, especially for a “partnership”.

This “partnership” was again hinted at by insiders this year to come into fruition some time this Fall (2021).

Microsoft is definitely getting something back, but exactly what? Possibilities include:

  • Master Chief in Smash
  • Game Pass/xCloud on Switch

Xbox games on Switch wouldn’t be something that’d benefit Microsoft, which is why I didn’t include that in the list.

With the announcement of Sora being the final DLC in Smash Ultimate, Master Chief in Smash can be ruled out. That leaves us with Game Pass potentially coming to Switch as Xbox’s end of the deal.

Interestingly, internal documents surfaced from the Epic v. Apple trial had “competitively sensitive information about negotiations between Nintendo and Microsoft” that Nintendo got redacted. The context was discussions of putting “streaming” on other devices, like iOS, and presumably the Switch (since that portion got redacted by Nintendo).

Game Pass/xCloud on Switch would give these benefits to Microsoft:

  • Get more Game Pass subscribers (primary goal)
  • Reach the Japanese audience (Xbox brand has been weak over there)
  • Push Xbox Series S|X as a companion console for Switch owners (GP subscription would carry over to native gaming on Xbox hardware)

Game Pass/xCloud on Switch would be the thing that would benefit Xbox the most, and there seems to be clues and hints pointing towards that happening soon.

Just FYI one small thing, new super Lucky’s tale wasn’t an Xbox exclusive. Super Lucky’s tale was published by Microsoft yes, but NEW was self published by Playful. They own the IP, not Microsoft, which is why it’s out on other platforms including PlayStation.
