IGN are reviewing campaign and MP separately and I think everyone should. They are not a singular package.
Also the MP is literally one of the best things I’ve ever played. Don’t care about MC scores but the MP alone is on its own for quality. Can’t think of a game I’ve played that’s as good as this.
This game is immaculate, the whole experience is just so buttery smooth, graphics are clear and readable, and the sound design is precise (which many multiplayer games get wrong time and time again). It’s just sooo fun, and I am not usually a fan of arena shooters.
It feels really balanced out of the gate, the power weapons are not OP at all given their much limited ammo and availability, but are still very fun to use and abuse.
Just a polished experience through and through (with the occasional bug, which I can forgive since it’s a preview) and if all goes well this will shine as the perfect evolution of the Halo formula. I absolutely can’t wait for this game, and will lose dozens of hours in the campaign, and hundreds more on the multiplayer aspect.
With such a solid foundation, the 10 year plan leaves me extremely happy. More content and just straight up goodness in this beautiful platform of a game.
But will the score aggregators have separate titles listed for Campaign and Multiplayer, or will they force them to assemble them into one score submission? It doesn’t really matter to me, but I am a little curious how the meta around it will be handled and what the reactions to that will be.
Hopefully a simple question for someone to answer about the BTB map Fragmentation, where does The Wasp drop in that map? I saw the Scorpion tank being dropped in on a video clip, but haven’t seen it for the Wasp.
They already hacked into, I wonder if they had coding issues that went fixed after the release date announcement and will now push foward for the launch
We’re discussing splitting it up since they are essentially separate products in a way they’ve never been before. Same way I’d split up a Cod review (we’re not doing one) into SP&MP (paid) vs. Warzone (f2p)
I am thinking splitting up the reviews will magnify the individual issues (Lack of campaign co-op and Forge at launch) than if it were all judged as one package. Think about it, lack of campaign co-op affects the the entire package less, but will be a big critical point in the campaign reviews. Same with Forge on the MP front. If it were together, the entire package could be judged as a package and its individual issues would be overshadowed more by the positives from both SP and MP.
